Squib kick is the right call in that situation. Kicker just made a bad kick by kicking it right into a player. That very rarely happens.

I'm a bigger fan of kicking a pop up one 30 yards or so and having an upback who's not used to fielding it try catching it. They don't get those 3 pts if they do that.
