Cezar Guerrero

That's not accurate.

fml..
----------
We continue to lose recruiting battles....Uthoff, T. Harris, Cezar, etc.
Not the way to turn around a program.
-----------
Unreal. If we can't land a kid who visits when we upset Purdue on senior day and storm the court, I am not sure what else can be done. So McCaffrey brings Basabe and the rest of guys have contributed what exactly? Not hitting the panic button, but I thought we were getting some seasoned coaches with relationsihps in Speraw and Dillard. Thus far I have been underwhelmed with what these guys have done, as Oglesby, White and Meyer are guys we can get with our eyes closed.

They have to nail the remaining two scholarships or we aren't going to be much better next year. Apparently we really aren't attractive to top recruits.
-----------
The lesson is that we are one of the worst BCS basketball programs in the country. And it's still highly debateable if Fran will change that. If he doesn't, we can say goodbye to Gary Barta and the idea of a mid-major coach ever getting the head coaching job again.
-----------
My advice to you is to aim high and work on completing your GED. My point, which was obviously lost on you, is that if we can't win a recruiting battle with OSU in Hickwater, OK, how are we going to win against "better" programs? OSU's coach will have 1 more year to right the ship, or he will be collecting TBoone buyout bucks.
-----------
Again, we have a head coach and 3 assistants that didn't come here from another planet and should have some relationships with AAU programs and Juco schools. I am not expecting 4 star kids to line up at CHA, but I don't see our athleticism improving if we can't land a couple of next level players. It will take time, but I am disappointed we have had so many offers out and have not closed the deal with any non project players thus far.
------------

I disagree.

Didn't have time to search everything but found a few quotes for you from posters who weren't happy. I remember that time. We were all thrilled when he was here for the Purdue win and thought he was ours. It was a big deal when he went elsewhere.

You said "most people". And then you send me a couple of posts that, for all I know, were made by the same lunatic? Just say what it was...a handful of people overreacted about our recruiting. Now they know better. End of story.

I do remember more than a fair share of people overreacting to this. This is a prime example of fan reaction though. People were down on the staff at one point with the 2011 class and unfairly so.
The fact is there were people in disbelief that Aaron White was coming to Iowa...couldn't believe Uthoff had signed with Wisconsin and also wondering why Oglesby, a Top 150 player, was signed as he isn't any good.

Now the facts do state otherwise about the job that Fran and his staff have done. All they guy has done is taken the worst job in the BIG at the time and turned it into a legit NIT program to an on the cusp of NCAA Tournament team. The expectations in the recruiting battles were unfair and I think those that think Iowa still needs to recruit better should just crawl back under their rock. It takes time to build relationships and I am very curious to see what Iowa does the single that is open for 2013. My opinion is just that, but there is a kid out there named Jordan Swopshire that I would like to see Iowa make a run at, but then there is still that Jok kid that when he was fully healthy at a younger age was regarded as a player that could be better than Harrison Barnes...weather you think Barnes was a "bust" or not (NOT) doesn't matter. Barnes got people paying a whole lot more attention to Iowa HS Bball and the quality players just keep coming.

Iowa is far better off today without Cezar, but I also don't feel it he would have been a bad addition and is not a given Iowa doesn't get Gesell/Clemmons, but the liklihood is that both wouldn't be on the roster today. I want to believe that Gesell/Clemmons will be better, but they still haven't played a game of college ball yet. FWIW Cezar wouldn't have been as out of control at Iowa and the system at Iowa fit Cezar better than at OSU.

Bye, Bye, Julius.......

Elated that we have Mick G, Anthony CLemmone, and Patrick Ingran coming on board. I really liked Cezar and thought we had him after the Purdue game.....

We will be fine without him....'

I have a feeling thet there will be those who regret not committing to the Hawks.....

:)
I thought he was impressed with Iowa and the coach and he actually tweeted that he likes it here .It's oklahoma State's problem now , I rather be happy with what we have here at Iowa and i think we'll be fine this season and more.

Remember when he picked OSU? Most people were ready to run Fran out of town on a rail. Sometimes things work out. :)

Fans overreacting because something didn't go the way they wanted it to? Never heard of it before, at least not Hawkeye fans.
