Very interesting take from Feldmen and Mandel. It sounds like they're back on the KirFer bus. 7-0 will do that. Last year was kind of rough; but Iowa was so close to having a completely different year then it ended up being.

I guess I don't really agree with him that an 11-1 Iowa would go to the playoffs if they beat MSU or OSU...
I don't think Iowa "would" go to the playoffs, but I think they "could" go to the playoffs. Playoff destiny wouldn't be in their own hands, of course. It would be tough to keep a one-loss Big Ten team out of the top four if all other conference champions had one loss. Big 12 could be left out again playing one less game.

This whole thing was designed to:

A) get to four super-conferences and have conference champions make playoffs
B) expand to eight: five conference champions + 3 at-large.

I'm betting this is going to eight playoff teams. If a Big10 or SEC champion is left out of the four team playoff -- especially if a private religious school from a smaller power conference with no championship game or an independent religious school keeps the Big10 or SEC out of the playoff then we go to 8. And sooner rather than later.
