Cartwight's quiet approach keys Hawkeyes

Small segment from article:

Cartwright sometimes has struggled with ball security, but he was his finest Tuesday with just two turnovers. When Cartwright passes out at least five assists and keeps an assist-to-turnover ratio better than 2-to-1, the Hawkeyes are 9-1 - including wins over Wisconsin, Michigan and Illinois.

"It's easier for everybody to score when he's doing that," sophomore guard Devyn Marble said. "We all like to get out and go. It opens up everything when a defense isn't set in its half-court. That's why I feel we're such a good scoring team because we get out and push it."

Iowa coach Fran McCaffery can tell his transfer from Compton, Calif. - the only Hawkeyes hailing from the west coast, where Iowa's spending the weekend - would like to shoot more. But Iowa's fortunes have dictated a supporting role as Cartwright co-exists with his heir, Marble, in the starting lineup.
"He's been phenomenal, really," McCaffery said. "The key is not only his assists are up, but his turnovers were down. Obviously his decision-making was spectacular (vs. Dayton). When he's playing like that, we're so much better."
