CAREER OPPORTUNITY: Outside Sales Position for HawkeyeNaton.com
START DATE: May 2010
SUMMARY: This position will be responsible for selling banner advertising on the website HawkeyeNation.com. This is a wide open market and the product you have to sell has a decade long track record of tens of thousands of Iowa based visitors, plus some opportunity for national sales. This opportunity does not have a glass ceiling as it relates to earnings potential and additional products and sales opportunities with closely related third party entities will also be available to the ideal candidate. If earning six figures is a requirement for you, this position will provide that opportunity.
REQUIREMENTS: The candidates will have proven outside sales experience and will be required to list references that will be contacted. Minimum three years of outside sales experience…candidates with experience in advertising sales preferred, but not required. However, candidates that have that experience will definitely receive a call back…must provide own vehicle and must have own cell phone. Familiarity with Power Point or similar software a plus…this is an Independent Contractor position, NOT an employee, so being a self motivated and able to manage your own time is an absolute must…this position will provide a monthly draw against commissions.
OPPORTUNITY: This position will afford the right candidate an opportunity to make a considerable income…commission rates will be very competitive and surpass the rates that are currently being paid to Outside Sales Executives in several of the nation’s largest media conglomerates in competing genres…You get a chance to sell a product that is loosely connected to Iowa Hawkeye athletics (unofficially) and the inventory you will have a chance to sell is substantial…given the time of year, more than 100,000 individuals visit the site each month. Details on commissions and earnings potential will be shared during the call back phase of the interview process.
TOOLS: HawkeyeNation.com and its traffic are charted by Google Analytics, a widely accepted and trusted platform. The data that program provides can show potential advertisers how many people are visiting the website from a geographic area pertaining to the advertisers potential client base. Other metrics that will be supplied are bounce rate, depth of visit, time of visit (stickiness), daily/monthly page view averages, daily/monthly unique users averages and more. Also, we will begin a campaign to collect more user demographic data in the very near term such as education level ,income level, home ownership and more.
LOCATION: The ideal candidate(s) will live in either the Des Moines, Iowa City or Cedar Rapids areas & must be willing to travel to each of those areas plus others as is required to fulfill the obligations of the position. Maximum ‘away from home’ time likely no more than one week per month, or as candidate deems necessary to earn the income he or she desires.
