Can't wait for Fran to run UW and Brust off the court

Ben had to do what he had to do. The coach that he committed to was fired, and he wanted to look around. I don't begrudge him at all for doing this. He is going to a school that has won several Big Ten titles in the past decade and 'leaving' a program that hasn't won a big ten regular season title since 1979.

Tough to blame him, and I just don't get how some people get so mad about stuff like this. This post is tame, so I am not ripping you. But the venom I have seen in some other posts and places is just mind blowing, given the kid never laced up his shoes for an official practice at Iowa

To a point I agree. But from what I've read and heard the stickers Ben put on his car and the clothes he wore to school read "Iowa" or "Hawkeyes," not "Lickliter." So to see Ben re-open his recruiting after the coaching change was disappointing; for him to decide to commit to the Madison Vulture leaves a really bad taste in the mouth.

I'm not so sure there wasn't some tampering that took place here, but that probably will never be proven. I do hope the Big Ten chooses not to turn a blind eye to it, however.

Just another brick in the load of why diehard Hawkeye fans can and will choose to root against anything Wisky, and hope we have more than passing success when we play them on the field or on the court.

I for one am glad this is over, and I hope the constant speculation is too. Wisconsin may look like a better opportunity today. Thats fine.

I am very happy with where we are after the coaching change. With signing a solid point guard, and another solid assistant, we will have done what we needed to do.

My compliments to Gary Barta and Fran. During the search, I was very concerned. Not now.

Jon-

I don't think anyone begrudges him for choosing to go to Wisconsin or choosing not to go to Iowa. I think the way he and his family handled themselves made him out to be a spoiled brat and the spawn of two more spoiled brats. There was never any venom directed towards Cody Larson for instance. I think Hawk fans are sophisticated enough to know how it works.

But when you throw the institution under the bus, accuse them of shady dealings, and have a temper tantrum over a conference not changing the rules for you, I think he is getting what he deserves from some Hawkeye fans.

That kind of entitled attitude doesn't play well in Iowa City and frankly, will not serve him well in life. I don't wish him ill will, but I understand why he will be booed loudly the first time he enters CHA, and if I were there, I would join in.

You have no idea what you are talking about. After reading your pompous and uninformed post I doubt you know what traits will serve someone well in life.
