Can’t Blame Iowa Hawkeyes’ Fans For Being Disappointed With The Big Ten Network

Personally, I'd love it if they were able to go back to 1 p.m. kicks. That's perfect, IMO. Don't have to get up crazy early to tailgate extensively, and you're out of there by 4.

I want 1 night game per year. I enjoy going to night games but I would not want more than one per year. I like a good mix of 230 and 11 am as well. Sometimes I don't mind the early kicks but hopefully we get At least a couple 230 kicks

Unless it's a game worthy of primetime(Miami at Iowa in 92 or Ohio State at Iowa in 06), the novelty has worn off for me. Getting ready all day to watch a showdown of Iowa vs Purdue, Indiana, Northwestern, Western Michigan, etc....??? I'll pass. 2:30 kicks are ideal

I thought the Northwestern night game a couple years ago was fun. Very festive. Striped crowd. Entertaining game. I got loopy. I think that would've been a good option this year. Plus I am really starting to enjoy when we do beat the nerds. Gawd, they're annoying!

Did Capt. Empty Pants or his shill Barta have any say in this? I am guessing that Meyer and Hoke have all the say now.

Please find something else to do...you are not at all interesting or informative. Thanks in advance for your absence.

This is perhaps the most inanae thread there is on this woeful site, and that is saying something. Our fans would rise up in mutiny over three night games; Indiana has no such concerns since they have nothing more than a handful of fans to begin with and no contributors to their football program. An Iowa-Western Michigan night game would go over like a lead balloon. A season full of 11:00 games served us just fine the last time we had it (2002), and I would gladly take 11:00 games with a sprinkling of 2:30 games again this year. One thing I do know is playing at night on the B1G Network against an SEC and B1G network prime game offers nothing in exposure and a ton of inconvenience for the fans so regardless of what the drinking habits of our 25 year old fan base clamor for, I will take the day games thank you very much.

While I see both sides and happen to feel that winning is the biggest prerequisite for night games and that we don't necessarily deserve one based on that fact. I also feel that there are plenty other programs, IU and Illinois for example that don't necessarily deserve them either.

As a 30 something fan, with a child too young to take to games at this time I've grown fond of the 11:00 kickoffs so I could get a game in and still have time to be a dad on gamedays. That said some of the night games are still the most memorable games that I can remember and while I enjoy the earlier kickoffs I still think there's something special about playing under the lights and the atmosphere under the stars.

I look forward to the yearly night games and although I don't think we deserve the primetime slot, it's always memorable and a disappointment we didn't get one this year.

We can still hold out hope for a 5pm time slot, no?
Anyone remember PennSt '08? Was that not a 5pm game?

Who in the hell besides (some) people here would want to watch this boring trainwreck team during prime time?

Nobody, that's who, and you can't blame them.

BTN is doing themselves and Kurt a favor. It's win win.

Come on Tork. Are you even old enough to remember the 1:05pm kick offs??
