Can we please let the legal system work this out?

Robinson has only been arrested. He has not pleaded nolo contedere or suffered a final, non-appealable order from a court of competent jurisdiction. Until one of those things happens, I will presume him innocent and support the guy 100%. The cops could have planted that stuff, or he might not have known he was in possession of it. There are just too many potential outcomes, and for those of you have convicted the youngster already, you should be ashamed of yourselves. GOOD LUCK ADAM!!!

What's so funny? Cops hate jocks and could have seen this as an opportunity to ring up someone famous. Does the Duke lacrosse issue ring a bell with anyone here? This could be the same type of thing.

Yeah, sure, a guy's right to legal process is lame. I hope you are never the victim of overzealous police activity, pal. Any ball player who is arrested should remain in good standing until the court system has had time to work the matter out.

I think this is the most likely scenario. I just can't help but think that if he had a smart phone like me all this could have been avoidable.

Amen, if only everyone had a smart phone. Can't help but think if he was a 60 year old white male driving a Lexus that was missing the front license plate he probably wouldn't have been pulled over either.

I don't see what you find so funny about this. Using only my smart phone I can find dozens of news articles, and thousands of books or movies in which someone was framed by a dirty cop. I hope you find yourself in a situation like that someday so maybe you can understand what it's like!
 
Yeah, I don't get why this clown thinks I'm trying to be funny. If Iowa wants to be a big time program, it will need guys to be able to win court cases in addition to battles on the football field. Hoping a kid beats a stupid charge that will hover over him for life and prevent him from taking out federal student loans or getting a host of jobs is not an attempt at being funny. One of my good friends had to quit college when he couldn't get any student loans over getting caught with a dime bag and Mr. Robinson may have many defenses available. As between Robinson and the cops, I'm cheering for Robinson.

He wasn't arrested.
 
In the old days they just took the bad guys out and hung um , not for pot...but it is not always a bad concept in my opinion.
