Can we now stop talking about Vandy v. OSU???

You don't need to hang the loss on VB, but he was only 50% on completions. That is hardly something where you say he couldn't have done better and made the difference. He missed a lot of guys that were open in certain parts of the game. To sit here and say he was not the problem, well, he just wasn't the biggest problem.

There were plenty of throws he should have made and didn't.

That's fine go ahead and count them. He won against Minny(although it was a painful game to watch) and he played well enough to win against OSU. So he is 2-2 and his two losses were on the road(one in a place we never win and one in a place where we also often lose) and in both games he played well enough to win. Would you agree with me here?

He played well enough to win, but not well enough that he won. I'm not going to start a bring in Derby protest, but all i'm saying is he has not shown me that he has it.

After 5 games this year, Vandy is still very inconsistent and still very overrated in the minds of many. Wish we had a second stringer that could push him for the starting position.

His other games have been average at best. Other than one game (in which he still threw a few picks) he hasn't proven anything. Fact.

Up until last week he had like 10 touchdowns to 1 pick and he had yards that were very close to Stanzi. Yes, he had a bad game, I"ll stand by him though and my belief that he will qb us to many good games before he is done.

He didn't against Pitt? He didn't against LMU? I thought he played very well.

IMO I don't think many have him rated very high at all, rather, I think most of HN still doubted him even when he had good numbers (up until this week). He had a bad game and certainly everyone who was on the fence is on him now, but I bet he proves you all wrong before its done...

If anything, JVB is a very efficient passer. He did not have a great game. Many did not have a great game. He did have a number of dropped balls though.

Since at the start of this thread, 5 games was enough of a sample size to draw conclusions (and it's now been 8 games), here's a look at what Stanzi did in HIS first 5 and 8 starts (bear in mind that Vandy still only has 7 starts):

98/168 (58.33%)
1313 yards
10 TD
7 INT

Now compare to Vandy in his first 7 starts (Northwestern hardly counts, as he was unexpectedly thrust into the game, no chemistry AT ALL with his receivers):

129/220 (58.63%)
1614 yards
12 TD
7 INT

Considering that his first start came on the road against one of the nation's best defenses, it's hardly a mortal sin for him to have had 3 picks against OSU. He's shown himself to have better physical tools than Stanzi had, and he's got better numbers overall. He's shown more than enough for me to believe he's got the potential to be special. Is he there right now? No. But that doesn't mean he doesn't have a realistic shot at being a great one.

and i dont think he's close to his potential yet. He is going to have some very good to incredibile games for us. IMO
