Can we beat Michigan at home on Tuesday?

I'd love to say yes, but that Sims matchup just scares the living hell out of me. Unless Iowa goes to some sort of zone or box and 1, I don't know how the Hawkeyes can stop him. He's beaten Iowa up consistently every time they get together.

The good news is Iowa gets 8 days off after this one, so they will be able to leave it all out on the floor. Bad news is it's their 4th game in 10 days, so fatigue may be an issue.

Honestly, is this winnable with the Sims/Harris show? Iowa hasn't had a prayer in the last two contests. They did beat the Wolverines last year at home in OT... but then again Manny Harris sat for a lot of that game.

Yes, because Michigan is also not a very good team. If Sims gets into foul trouble and the Hawks get some open shots I could definitely see Iowa winning. If they go to the 1-3-1 look for a lot of corner three's again. Now we just gotta hope that they aren't hitting either which has basically been the case all season.

Yes, I think the Hawks have a chance. Michigan just won at Minnesota, but the Gophers are struggling as well. The Gophers lead NW for most of the game today at Evanston but could not close the deal. The matchups with Sims and Harris are tough for Iowa, but I think if the Hawks can limit their damage, some of the other matchups are in our favor and the Hawks can win this one.

Michigan is 2-4 in conference road games (2-7 overall). NW was the only blowout score.

It's possible. It'll depend if they come ready to play and consider Iowa to be a challenge. It looks as if they're been mentally tougher on the road. But if they don't, the Hawks will likely win; they won't buckle mentally.

I think we have seen that Iowa doesn't play well against Michigan in the past two matchups. I don't think this game being at home with nobody in attendance will be enough difference to give us a shot.

I think one big reason that we struggle agaisnt Michigan and other teams with good big men is that Cole is only 6'7". I love Cole and his heart but he just lacks height and when it comes to these big guys that can hit a mid range jump shot.

I think Sims has started so well against us. Can we find some way to slow him down early? Maybe that gives us a chance.

And shoot well Control ball. Please.

Seeing as how Iowa will be one of the two teams on the floor Tuesday night, and that one of the two teams has to win - yes, I would say it's possible that Iowa emerges victorious.

What I see happening is Sims gets into it early again and we get either Fuller or Cole foul trouble in the first half and that spells trouble.

The good news is Michigan is one of the most inconsistent teams in the nation. They could easily drop an egg.

Lets just hope Iowa shows up this time. We havent the last few against Michigan. Maybe Todd will have them ready for once against Michigan?

Lickliter change things up........isn't going to happen. Even Matta, ex-Butler, changes defense multiple times during a game. What does he know that Lick apparently doesn't....like how to coach?

No kidding.
Matta even went zone for a couple years.
