Cameron Crazies down to 650 out of….

There are several reports that the 1,200 student section at Duke University Cameron Indoor Stadium is now down to only 600 plus for the last few games.

Duke undergraduate students get free admission although sometimes they must stand in line.

I’m curious about the current Iowa BB situation.

Do Iowa students have to pay? Do they have to stand in line? (It’s 60 degrees and the sun is shinning today in Durham today)

How many Iowa students are really showing up to cheer on their fellow â€￾student-athletesâ€￾ at Carver-Hawkeye Areana?

Duke University is reportedly able to sell “studentâ€￾ tickets for $65 at a pop when they don’t show up.

What are the going rates for getting into a 2012 Mad Fran version 2.0 of Iowa BB?

Student tickets at Iowa are $15, and only two games a year are offered free tickets.

Yeah but we had 5000 blue haired old women and men in overalls with their seedcorn caps on. They all clapped very politely when Archie thunder-dunked.
Then they went back to knitting and napping.

Yesterdays game was free for students. I would say about 1,000showed up?

Thanks hate. In other words the ESPN, Dick Vitale, Duke, TV version of the Cameron Crazies is just a bit overblown?

Like it's a 9,500 seat place (similar to the original Iowa Fieldhouse) that is about a bunch of pampered, young people with rich daddies and mommies mostly from New Jersey?

Iowa students aren't much different from Duke students except they don't get free tickets, don't get to be on TV with their painted faces and have to cheer for an emerging, soon to be winning program.

Watch the Duke 650 bottom out to a couple of hundred after 4 losing seasons in a row.

Men?s hoops to offer season-ending student ticket package - The Daily Iowan

The "6-for-5" package includes a student ticket for each of Iowa's final home contests, starting with Thursday's game against Nebraska. Those that buy the $50 package will also be guaranteed a free seat for Iowa's game against Minnesota on Feb. 1.

The package includes tickets to Iowa's Feb. 4 game against Penn State, at which the program will honor the silver anniversary of its 1986-87 Elite Eight team, its Feb. 19 showdown with Indiana, the Feb. 23 game against Wisconsin, and the final home game of the year, on March 3 against Northwestern.

There's a student deal for the last home games. Like 60 bucks.

Is it just for me... or Hypno are you under cover for the Iowa Athletic Department Ticket Department?

Good for you no matter what.

ummm... as you begin to watch this clock tick.. tick.. tick.. as it wanders about your face... You can't hypnotize anyone over a message board.

And ice cream...... don't forget about that..... they eat a lot of ice cream

Just throwing out there what the U of I claims to be a "deal" for students. It doesn't affect me either way. I would think they'd go lower due to the small amount of students at the games.

The official capacity of the Field House was 13,365. Though in 1970, the Hawks averaged more than capacity for the season.

I emailed Barta, he said letting students in free "cheapens" the product.

Re:Cameron Crazies down to 650 out ofÂ….

Cheapens the product huh? And thousands of empty seats and near dead silence don't. With decisions like that it's no wonder Barta gets paid so well, the man is a genius.

What do you mean silence? I distinctly heard Edna drop her knitting needles in the first half.
