Cam Newton is legit.

Broke the rookie passing yards mark (previously held by P Manning) in the first half of today's blowout of Tampon Bay.
Best young QB in the league, although Andy Dalton is a close second.
Every other first or second year QB (except Dalton) is a fraud and a joke compared to CAM.

Newton is a great fantasy QB, not a top Qb in the league, and probably never will be. He has yardage numbers, but too many ints, and doesn't win many games. Plus, the QB in Denver even has a higher passer rating than he does.

He wins games... Without him that team has maybe 1 win... There defense sucksss

Yeah, he was really worth the couple hundred grand Auburn payed for him. I'm guessing the love fest will end when he's finally stripped of his Heisman and national title.

Newton is a beast (trademark Marshawn Lynch). When he gets more weapons at the receiver and the D in Carolina improves, look out.

Can't take away the memories. He was worth every penny of the $180,000 for Auburn.

This Peyton Manning guy will never be a top QB. He has yardage numbers but too many ints and doesn't win many games.

No your right, the Newton to Manning comparisons are certainly apt. Both are extremely intelligent players who are unbelievable workers that are once in a generation players at their positions.

Newton may not be as hard a worker as Manning. He may not be as smart.

But saying those two things doesn't exactly say a whole lot. You could probably count the number of quarterbacks fitting that description on one hand. In history.

Newton isn't a complete moron when it comes to football. And he's a (sort of) once in a generation talent for the position. Guys like Vince Young and Mike Vick were also outstanding athletes. But Newton is a much better passer than either of those guys at this stage of their careers. Newton and RGIII have the kind of skill to possibly revolutionize the position. And Griffin DEFINITELY has the intangibles which are a little questionable with Newton.

Wow, that post was so full of ignorance and offensiveness it's not even funny.

I sense some sarcasm here and you're probably right that its not the best comparison. After all Newton accomplished more in his one year at Auburn than Manning did in four years at Tennessee.
