Calipari lands two No. 1's on same day

I say "Go Kentucky". Win big, win often, and when you have destroyed any integrity college basketball might have had don't ask for any adulation from those of us who still remember when the ballers were still honest to goodness students.

When was this? 30 years ago?

There is stuff going on everywhere around college basketball. I am sure if you look into it even Butler has some shady practices.

Why do people act like only 2 programs are dirty? It's just ridiculos. If you don't like major college football and basketball go follow DIII sports where things are more pure per say. DIII athletics is not completely pure either.

Just accept that major college sports is like professional sports, be entertained and enjoy.

I don't understand why people care.

Give me a break... there's a world of difference between UK and Butler, just like there's a world of difference between Butler and Wartburg or Central or wherever. Several Butler students went to class on the morning of the championship game, whereas there are many reports that Derrick Rose never set foot in a spring semester classroom. Even if things aren't completely "pure," you can at least try to comply with the rules and the spirit of college sports. Calipari doesn't even pretend to try.

The NCAA can't force basketball players to stay in school if they don't want to, but they can hold coaches more accountable when problems are uncovered after they leave. I'd like to see coaches like Calipari get slapped with the equivalent of the "Lack of Institutional Control" charge. Right now their only motivation is not to get caught, and when something shady does go down they can just say "I never knew!" Call that BS for what it is. Calipari probably had Derrick Rose's class schedule, favorite TV shows, and girlfriend's phone number memorized. Don't tell me he didn't know that he didn't take his own SATs-- and if he really didn't, he should be held accountable for his (probably willful) ignorance.

It's good to know I'm not the only one that hates one and done players...Honestly Idc if it did mean we'd be nationally ranked...I hope Iowa never stoops to the level of our bball team basically being an AAU team.

Why couldn't Calipari just get a bunch of good free-agents and win in the pros???

Because EVERYONE pays for them in the pros...

Exactly I can't stand Calipari AT ALL!!! What other coach has had to vacate TWO final four seasons at TWO different schools??!!! He cheats to recruit OR cheats to get people qualified OR both.

And next year he will have to land two more and Kentucky doesn't make it the final four again. Kentucky has turned into a minor league team for the pros. The problem is that Kentucky fans will never really get to know any of these players, kind of like Ricky Davis and Iowa. No real attachment...

What will be more fun in the tournament is watching everyone cheer against Kentucky and then watching them lose like they did this year and then watching the Kentucky fans cry.

My first thought when I read this was, big deal...with one years difference, these kids will never play together at Kentucky.

I could see Knight staying two seasons, he's not quite as athletic as the Rose, Wall, Evans group of point guards that's preceded him. Also, with the potential NBA lockout next season there won't be such a rush for all the underclassmen to declare like there was this season.
