That only happens if you fumble. That & you never play again
Who was it that fumbled/muffed that kickoff inside the 5 yard line in the bowl game a few yrs ago? Parker was it? He was never on the field again after that I don't think. Then he went on to be apart of the group that sued over 'discrimination' Dude was just butthurt that his own play got him benched.

It's wild that muffed kicks and fumbles can get guys benched but interceptions and incompletions can't get QBs benched.... It takes an act of congress for KF to bench a qb just about for poor play

You mean like Leshon fumbling in the Sparty game, then returning to the game during the most important possession, where we ran out the clock.

You're pushing another myth. Moreover, don't you think a guy with a history of fumbling needs some bench time to contemplate ball security?

When you start making things up, or relying on untruthful myths, about which to complain you probably are no longer an Iowa fan. Maybe you once were but you are not anymore. Obviously you hate the coach, or at least hate their style of play. It's OK to change teams. Focus on tOSU or Michigan or some other program. You will be personally happier and more entertained. Actual current Iowa fans will be happier not swimming through the flood of ceaseless negativity. Win/win for everyone.

It was the single dumbest mistake I have ever seen. You have to trust the guys that handle the ball deep in your own field. Unsurprisingly, Parker was one of the dumbest players in the Feretnz years. They did try to bench Petras but Padilla was just so much worse he couldn't be trusted on the field. Last season, terrible line, you'd think the mobile QB, Labas would have seen the field.

Labas should play if Hill starts slow again. That NFL model, never benching the starter, is engrained in the Ferentz mentality. The other year that was very disappointing was Vandeburg(sp?) senior year. Had one of the best single seasons by an Iowa QB as a junior. Injured his shoulder and really couldn't throw harder than a 9th grader after that. Rudock was just a freshman but he couldn't have been worse than the badly diminished Bear Hunter. Rudock himself was benched a couple of times his junior year for Beathard before losing the job to Beathard.

Shaun Beyer vs Wisconsin in 2018 was the dumbest play I've seen in 45 years of Fandom. To this day I don't know what he was thinking.

That was bad too. But it was partially bad luck. He had his back to the ball and wasn't intentionally trying to do what he did. Parkers was 100% on him.

They should change the punt rule where if a ball hits a player on the punt receiving team accidentally while he is blocking or engaged or has his back to the ball, and is then recovered by the punting team, the punting team gets possession.

Such a dumb rule.

We've been on both sides of it... I get it being the way it is. I'm ok with it I suppose. It's just the timing of when it can happen that really can swing momentum.

I am okay with that rule...it is consistent with what happens if a returner muffs a punt, and I don't think we want to just give all returners mulligans whenever they fail to field a ball.

There is one rule that I think doesn't make sense: a fumble into the endzone and out of bounds goes to the other team. No where else on the field does the defense get possession for a fumble out of bounds. A fumble out of the EZ should be returned to the offense at the spot of the fumble.

Fantastic. Hope his personal deal isn't too bad of a thing. The fact he isn't just bailing due to some of the obvious reasons he could be is great for Iowa. People forget it's only his 2nd yr of college football he's talented but green behind the gills as far as having many reps. Sure would be nice to get him more. It's not like anyone ahead of him deserves any.
Plus if he leaves now I believe he'll have to sit for a year, not much different than being an Iowa WR but still.

True. Next yr Ragaini will be gone. So there's a lot of snaps for somebody. If Vines keeps dropping the ball I don't see why he'd keep getting 1st team reps. I wish we'd see more of Brown, Wetjen, and Anderson. Bostick seems to be hurt still. Beyond that is mostly freshman and walkons we haven't seen hardly at all. But two guys that literally can't catch the dang ball seem to get the most reps and why Iowa doesn't change things up is beyond me.

Sounds like Cade is coming back. Lachey hopefully will but he might go pro. Not having those 2 healthy all yr is just devastating. Not many programs can sustain that. Look at MSU. (granted they have a lot of issues but losing QB and stud WR hurts) Cade wasn't anywhere near healthy even while he was playing. Iowa's O has issues (understatement of the decade) so losing QB and top receiver just guts us even more.

I could see Cade transferring again. This time to a better offensive team. Of course there are not many pro style offenses left in college football that are lighting up the scoreboard.

He’s not getting picked by any good program with his stanky leg. Maybe if some mid major with a perfect system where he can hopefully get a good look at getting drafted.

Like hawkinn3 said he's damaged goods now. He won't be good to practice til sometime next summer. Most schools bringing in transfer Qbs want their qbs to be able to go through spring ball ideally and he just won't be 100% by then (again)

He's said he's coming back as well for whatever that's worth at this point. The signs to me point towards he'd stay until.... If say there's a coaching change then of course all bets are off.

Cade will be back. He likes Iowa. Iowa likes Cade. He is not NFL bound, so surgery and one more year on familiar turf in a solid program will be his choice.

No bad luck here. Look at the play. He saw the ball on the ground before he turned his back to it. Amani Hooker saw it and got away from it. Not a smart play at all.

Yep, that's how I see it. If you have another chance to do what you've done for years, what you love at a place that you feel at home at, you do it. Whether back up or starter, he'll be back.

Cade can't transfer without sitting out a year, which he isn't going to do. And like HuckFinn stated, he likes it at Iowa and has stated his intentions to come back next year.
