This statement is factually inaccurate:
The Germans invaded Poland on September 1, 1939. The United States was not "embroiled" in war until two years and two days later, when the US formally declared war on the Empire of Japan on December the 8th, nineteen hundred and forty one. Nile captured the sentiment in the United States, which was still very anti-war due to the major losses suffered in WWI. The US did not even begin the Lend Lease program until mid '41.
