Bulaga's Arms ARE Long Enough!

That's bad-***! Good post to a fun article.

Do you ever think the NFL's obsession with players' body measurements is a little creepy, almost Nazi eugenics creepy? It seems to overshadow a guy's proven ability to produce on the playing field.

I do find it funny that they spend YEARS watching guys play on the field and seeing what they bring to the table in way of in game skills, intangibles and instincts, only to wipe it all away when someone else who doesn't play as well on game day, beat them by .06 in the 40 yard dash or put up 225lbs one more time on the bench press...

they probably have success metrics calculated into a formula - based on NFL guys who were very successful. Those metrics can only be used as a guide, not the rule as you can't scale desire and heart.

Probably not as extreme as the Nazi reference tho. But yeah, fractions of an inch in body measurements should not be overshadowed by pounds of heart on the field. Also thought about KF's fondness for cross sport athletes. Don't hear Baseball mentioned too often. Usually its wrestling or basketball or track.
