Bulaga works out for Steelers

I too would love to see him with the Steelers. Although, the Steelers track record with drafting Hawkeyes has not been the greatest. Humpall was the last Iowan draft by Pittsburgh.

He ain't beating out Starks or Colon.....Kemoatu is solid at the RG spot.....Essex and Hartwig are the weak links so unless BB can play center or make the transition to guard he won't be a steeler.

If the Steelers are looking at Bulaga, it's safe to say they don't share your assessment of Starks and Colon.

I just don't think Bulaga beats out Starks or Colon at least not year one. If you draft him in the first round you are expecting him to play right away. As I stated earlier Essex and Hartwig are the weak links. It wouldn't shock me that Bulaga ends up being a guard in the NFL.

It wouldn't shock me either...I think he could pull it off easily. I just hope the Steelers don't wind up having to look for a QB in this draft.

Edit: Actually, I'm getting tired of Big Ben's act...even if he's innocent of the crime, he's guilty of not being very smart.

I agree with what you are saying, but franchise qb(s) are hard to find. At minimum he will probably have to cut a check to the victim/accuser to make this go away and avoid a civil suit. After this, maybe at 28 years of age he will give up the fratboy lifestyle. If he didn't sexually assault those two women I want him as the qb......After this latest incident maybe he will finally grow up.

I want to believe he's the victim of an opportunistic girl who knew about the lawsuit...and you're right, it is hard to find a franchise QB...I'm just pi$$ed that he's making himself look like a tool and the franchise look like the 90's Cowboys...but I hope you're right about him finally growing up.

I like the Steelers, and it would be nice to see some Hawkeye alumni stay in the black and gold. Mostly, I hope he has a great career and finds himself on a team capable of competing for championships (i.e., not the Raiders).

No, you don't draft a guy in the first round because you expect him to play right away. You draft them in the first round because you think they can become a cornerstone of your franchise, and it would be foolish to let them slip through your fingers.

There is no way Bulaga drops down to the Steelers at 18. I think he goes way higher.

This, the trading of McNabb opened things up. The only mock draft I can find that has Bulaga that low is Mel Kiper.

Bulaga is on the cover of SI.com right now.
