Bulaga/Dace

Most draft projections I have seen have Bulaga being a late first or early second round pick. I'd think it would be difficult for anyone to turn down a chance for 1st or 2nd round money. So, it seems very probable that he will enter the draft.

Assuming that both Dace and Bulaga will not be back Iowa will only return Rieff and V-man with any significant playing experience. My questions is, where does that leave the O-line in 2010?

Best guess for starting Oline w/o Bulaga and Dace
LT- Reiff
LG- Gettis
C- Koeppel/ Ferentz
RG- Vandervelde
RT- Orne/ Haganman/ Zusevics

Eubanks was very complimetary of both Nolan MacMillin and Brett Van Sloten. It is possible that Vandervelde could slide to the center spot again. I think that the only sure thing is that if Bulaga truly is gone is Reiff at Left Tackle and Vandervelde and Gettis somewhere.

I think he will be a 2nd rounder this year. If he comes back and plays at a high level for a full season he could be a high first rounder. That kind of jump is the difference between a nice pay day and being pretty much set for life.

If he's projected as a first rounder (he is) then he will go. And from the outside looking in, he should go. Even if he wasn't as dominate (he wasn't) as he was predicted to be.

With the future of the collective bargaining agreement in the NFL in question, if a player thinks they can go in the first 2 rounds of the next draft, they need to go. It's possible there is a lockout in 2011 and also a salary restriction added in the CBA.
