And that’s what we call going on a roll, folks.
There’s little for me to disagree with here, but when your compare our start to this season with our typical sluggish starts, and when contrast our issues with that of the stronger foes on our schedule, we look like the most complete package other than Wisconsin, and even they are one dimensional (or at least as one dimensional as Jonathan Taylor can be) on offense. I mean, good lord, Michigan has the best odds to beat us all season, and frankly their pitiful performances make them worthy of seven point dogs to us, if we were playing next week.I wish I could be that optimistic, but getting into the meat of the B1G season the Hawks can’t keep being just a second half team. We’re not going to see the B1G teams make the same mistakes that Buttgers and Miami made, and they definitely aren’t going to gift us with 2nd or even 3rd chances with penalty freebies like we’ve been getting.
The out route shit has to stop, Stanley has to clean up the overthrows, and I’d love to see some split backfield stuff with Sargent and Goodson. Those two guys are reeeeaaaal close to Wadley/Daniels and we all know what those two did to defenses.
That’s fair, I didn’t watch them this week. They were one dimensional last week. Coan looked pretty bad, but his stat sheet today looks stellar. That said, I have no idea what to make of 26/33 and 363 yards as 35 point favorites. I don’t know enough about their opponent’s defense. I’ll be interested to see how he plays in two weeks against Michigan. Speaking of which, it’s awesome that we get Michigan coming off of their trip to Madison.I wouldn’t say Wisconsin is one dimensional they had 400 yards passing and 200 yards rushing today.
Can you imagine the number of talking heads having to come up with new schtick if both Iowa and Sconny put up over 300 yards each in the air when they meet this year? It would be hilarious.I wouldn’t say Wisconsin is one dimensional they had 400 yards passing and 200 yards rushing today.

And again, he sucked week one. Let’s see how he does against Michigan in two weeks before passing too much judgement. Not convinced Cone is for real with Bucky. Minnesota kicked his ass around end of last season.
He’s done after this year if he can’t beat OSU
Don’t over-react.Don’t look now folks, but the Hawks are staring down the barrel at a 6-0, maybe even an 8-0, start. Penn State and Michigan are both incredibly beatable this season. Aren’t teams supposed to improve from week one to week two? Frankly, at this point, if the Hawks are worse than 7-1 headed into the game in Madison, I’ll be disappointed, anything worse than 6-2 is unforgivable. A really tough schedule is looking manageable.
Have you watched Michigan? Their offense is really, really bad, and we get them coming off their trip to Madison.Don’t over-react.
at ISU
at Mich
Penn State are no slouches.
I feel even better about the other games Purdue, Minnesota, NW, Nebraska
Wisconsin hasn’t played anybody; they’ve done what they’re supposed to against nobodys but it’s not the same as getting smacked by someone who isn’t a nobody.
I’m ready to up the wins from 8 to 9 though.
I wish, but Michigan can’t fire him. He’s had 2-3 10 win years at Michigan, and they can’t do better than him. He isn’t going anywhere. Michigan thinks they are Alabama, Clemson or Ohio state. They never will be.
Things change from week-to-week. They still have a top ten defense.Have you watched Michigan? Their offense is really, really bad, and we get them coming off their trip to Madison.

yeah, I know. I get it. If former coaches now talking heads can re-anoint Wisconsin after one game then I get fans doing it.Its really hard not to jump to conclusions after 2 games. First we're left with what the talking heads, bloggers and writers have to say through the off season (Wisky is down) then just 2 games I've created new expectations.
Still things can and will change.
Forgot our bye!Things change from week-to-week. They still have a top ten defense.
And, no, our game is sandwiched between bottom feeders Rutgers and Illinois.
We will have their full attention.

I really hope they haven’t ironed out the kinks before we meet them - I’m happy we’ve got them early. That’s strange for Iowa, most seasons Iowa would want to play Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State as late in the season as possible.
Agreed, but as I’ve already pointed out in this thread, I’d take our mistakes over those committed by most of the other teams on our schedule. The only team remaining on the schedule that looks potentially more complete than the Hawks is Wisconsin. There’s also a big difference at OC between the ‘16 and ‘19 squad, and Beathard was playing while injured most of that season. Our WR unit is also much improved.I saw someone compare this start to 2016 recently. We looked pretty good in a 2-0 start that year, beating Miami-OH 45-21, and then taking care of ISU 42-3. A bit of fool's gold in there, however, as we had the NDSU wakeup call the next week.
They have done good things the first 2 weeks, but they have also made a lot of mistakes. You can see the potentia, but if the mistakes persist, they will cost us. So it all comes down to how clean they can become.
