Bubble teams as of this morning based

The Bubble (11 teams for 8 bids):
Virginia, La Salle, Temple, Iowa, Oklahoma, Boise State, California, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Tennessee, St. Mary's

Best of the rest (5):
Maryland, UMass, Baylor, Alabama, Middle Tennessee

I think if that is the situation we can get one of those 8 bids.

I discount all Best of the Rest minus MTSU...so if we add them to the top line it is 12 teams for 8 spots.

Teams I think should be in: Temple, Oklahoma, California

So that makes it 9 teams for 5 spots.

Who do I think we have a better case than? MTSU (no good wins), Virginia (way too many sub 150 losses)

So that leaves 7 teams for 5 spots and I gotta like those odds. That also puts 3 SEC teams out of those 7 and no way are all 3 getting in.

Thoughts?

I am of the thought that Iowa will be a #1 seed in the NIT. That is my expectation. If Iowa's name is surprisingly called during the selection show, it will be a very nice surprise ;)

Which 5 teams of that group do you see getting the nod over us? Just curious as I'm not 100% sold we are in either.

Where did this info come from?
I have not seen iowa's name on any bubble lists since friday Night loss..

I'm not talking about a specific bubble list...I'm saying these are the teams left at the bottom worth considering....just because Lunardi refuses to put a 7th team in his last 8 out doesn't mean they aren't talking about us.

Plus the selection chair said 13 teams were under consideration...I believe we are one of those 13.

It's not just Lunardi that isn't considering us. Most of the bracket experts don't even have us in the first four out.

Starting to think it's just not in the cards.

Where is this info coming from? I'm watching ESPN's College Basketball Live right now. Iowa is not even being discussed. By anybody.

I gotta agree with the Diesel. #1 NIT seed and I'm ok with that. Our OOC SOS was uber weak. We didn't earn it.

The committee has historically punished teams whom -

1. Can't win on the road. We were 2-8 in true road games with wins over PSU and NW. In addition no quality neutral court wins.
2. Play no one in the non-conference. Our SOS was 311th.

I honestly think NIT is better for this team and program. Keep building the fan base. Make a longer run, meaning more development.

I know people love the NCAA's, I just want to watch as much Iowa BB as possible.

As much as it pains me to say it but I agree with this.

Iowa is still on the last 4 out of several bubble list, and 'in' on a couple. My favorite 'expert' is Brad Evans of Yahoo, who is very good at this. He has Iowa as the 39th at large, 2 spots from being in. We probably are going to be a bit short.

If they go in the NIT I really hope/they NEED to make a deeper run than last year.
