BTN's Dienhart rates Iowa #7 LB group

I believe that Dienhart is trying to make a good-faith effort to project how guys who have not played much will produce next season.
He has Wisky as the #5 d-line and #4 lbers, even tho they lost all starters ...so projecting Iowa lbers at #7 is a reflection of how he thinks these rookies will perform despite nothing to go on, really.

I think it is more than fair to Iowa, but seems like some of the lower programs like IU and Minny have more experience returning, but are ranked lower.

I have been keeping an eye on where he projects the various units of the West ....Iowa is holding our own, altho Neb has the top lber and secondary groups.. Wisky is also high on lists. The Big Three is in the West...Iowa,Neb, Wis.

This. We are seven with very little experience at all. We could and probably should be lower to be fair.

Obviously we are going to be rated low because no one has really seen these guys too much and why go out on a limb. But (as I posted in another thread) I think Alston is going to be the man this year. The guy played in every game last year, is pretty big, is a Sr. and I think he'll blow up like Mike Daniels did once he became a starter.

Its almost as if Dienhart just rated us below all the "good programs" and above all the "bad programs".
