BTN question?

Tuesday, starting at 11:30 central time we get a bunch of Hawkeye content leading up to the 5:00 show where the bus with Howard, Dave and DiNardo rolls into IC to preview the team. The 3 games between 11:30 and 5:00 are the 2007 win vs MSU, 2017 vs OSU and the 2018 win vs Huskers. Those are the 3 I remember, anyway.

Thanks for the specific information. I am excited for this season as there are a lot of pieces in place for a great year. That’s what scares me as usually when we get media love and attention................... well we all know. Then come 2015 out of no where. All yes the roller coaster life of a Hawkeye fan.

I am still going to be positive. With a tougher schedule it will make nine wins or more even sweeter. Go HAWKS!!!!!

IF Iowa can make Kinnick magic, there is a good chance that they could end up 7-0 at home. I would think they will be favored in each game, with the possible exception of PSU.

Road schedule certainly is tough, but if they could win a couple of road games, they could see a 9 win season again. I dream of 10. Speculation is risk free.

I will add here that I watched a rebroadcast if the Mississippi State game on ESPNU on Thursday night and by the end of the first half I was getting excited for this season.

Not so much after the second half as the offense tried to give the game away. The game turning play for Iowa was the fluke Iowa interception in the end zone as the MSU player bobbled a wide open pass right in his hands for a sure TD that would have given them more than a one touchdown lead. Instead he bobbled it right into the hands of one of our players. Up until that point our offense was comatose. Also our tight-end (awarded as best in college football) was furious that he wasn’t getting the ball. Finally Brian must have found the tight-end portion of his playbook as Iowa finally threw the ball to him and moved the ball.

Let’s hope we finally get the ball to our best players this year or it’s going to be the same ole same ole. The defense should stellar this season. The offense? God only knows. I think the players are there to make things happen if only the coaches will get the hell out of the way.

The pass that was bobbled would have given them a 5 point lead, not more than a touchdown lead.

One of the Iowa players tipped the ball, which slightly misdirected its flight. That was covered in the post-game interview. Sure the kid should have caught it, but i don't think the bobble and ensuing interception was as much of a fluke as it appeared. Iowa outplayed Miss St for much of that game and deserved the win. Turnovers are a big part of football. I can easily argue that our losses to Wisconsin and Penn State last year were "fluky" losses.

Edit: There is a 4th game in between there: 2016 Michigan game. Then after the 5:00 B1G show, there is a repeat of that same show at 6:00. Then at 7:00 is the Mississippi State game. The 1985 Michigan at Iowa is in there somewhere, too.
That 2007 game needs to be burned and buried in the back yard. For the life of my I can't figure out whey they can't find a better game to air.

Yes that is part of the game. I try to forget about one of our players allowing himself to be blocked into a punted ball that was harmlessly rolling around on the ground.

I would like to see them change that rule and treat it the same as when a player is blocked into a punter. It’s not roughing the punter if your blocked into him , and it shouldn’t be considered touching a punt if your blocked into the ball. That was a huge play and changed the momentum of that game.

We all know the kid shouldn’t have even been with in ten yards of that ball. What’s done is done and hopefully a lesson was learned for that player and for the coach in charge of special teams. NEVER ASSUME players know what their suppose to do on special teams.

It was a costly learning lesson.
