BTN at Iowa Practice: Bo Bower Makes Move & Other Tidbits

First, I don't think you can hold yourself back. :). Second, you guys are free to interact however you want within the boards rules.

I don't find it enjoyable to argue with people on message boards. I also don't like to read it. But that's me. Some people do. I get enough at home with my wife and three kids. :)

If what Ickehawk does is within the board rules, there are no board rules. The guy calls someone an idiot for saying something as simple as "I think Stanley has the it factor".

Hard for me to sift through all of the threads and posts. But you are correct, unsolicited name calling is not welcome here and hurts the message boards.

Ah, some more of that 'proof' of yours that you are right, lol....Well, some unknown tweeter saying that

When Reid came in, they changed their philosophy a little to having the LB's learn multiple positions and getting the best 3 on the field regardless of what position they are listed at. Reid left but the thinking stayed. Last year Jewell actually played the Will when Fisher went down ( a lot of people didn't even notice). Bowers played the LEO quite a bit for Niemann (almost the entire Nebraska and Stanford games) but rep'd a lot a the Will. All the LB's have to be able to play 2 spots, and like I said they will get the best 3 on the field. Everyone beat the hell out of Bowers his RSFrosh year when he got thrown to the wolves, but he has always been plenty fast and now he is WAY bigger and stronger and pretty much has 15 starts under his belt and been on campus 4 years, so his 'experience' is in-valuable. At the same time the JR-CJ argument was going on, everyone (and I mean everyone) was talking about how bad our LB's were (Jewell included) and that NONE of them were athletic and didn't belong in the Big 10. I told everyone that this was a VERY talented group, but because of attrition they were having to play before they were ready, so lighten up. I said that in a year these guys (And I specifically said Bowers, Niemann, and Jewell) would be as good as any 3 we've ever had by the time they were seniors! We'll, they are only Jr's and they are well on their way. I actually pegged that these 3 would start and be very good 2 years ago! You should have heard the abuse I took for talking positively about these 3!!! I was called every name in the book, and marginalized at every opportunity. We heard the most horrible insults about them (and I know for a fact that their families saw some of it) so this is why I REALLY get on people on this site who want to bad mouth coaches and KIDS. There is no purpose to it, it's hurtful to families, and most of the time the IDIOTS that do this DON'T KNOW WHAT THE EF THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT!!! If you are really unhappy about something with the Hawkeyes then contact their offices and complain to professionals who are trained to handle this and someone that can do something about it, just might listen to you.......or find a team you like, but some of the stuff said ANONYMOUSLY on here has no place in a civil society....
I 100% agree with you on what you wrote here. However
You also get on people and call them names just for their opinions being different than yours. With no kid bashing involved. I can’t see how that is a whole heck of a lot better... Granted not the same thing. But whether or not your opinion turns out to be right doesn’t make another an ‘idiot’ necessarily. So I’m somewhat surprised you’d be as passionate as this defending the kids and their families when you take so lightly the opinions of others. There’s a line when it comes to evaluating the play of college kids. It’s one thing to say CJs arm is stronger then JRs stuff like that or even to just compare and say who you like more based off your gut or you like their hair cut more. But to go calling any of them names is just ridiculous. So I would hope we all could apply similar logic amongst one another…
