BTN at Iowa Practice: Bo Bower Makes Move & Other Tidbits

Check out the video of King's hit... it's worth the watch. Getting more and more pumped for football!!

Interesting.....is Icke right again? That is really going to tick off some people.
Haha I know one guy that'll have crow to eat. That's me.... Guess we'll see like they mentioned nothings written in stone yet on that spot or some others. But yeah if this holds true ole Ice will be playin the I told you so card and I'd have it coming

I said it would be Mends as well, but I will spin it as a win for me still somehow even if Bo ends up starting. :)

Either way, good for Bo if he wins the spot, I'm sure KF will start the player who gives us the best chance to win, right PC? ;)

I’m happy to be wrong all day long if Iowa’s winning. If Bo is playing well enough to win the spot then great. I didn’t think this is how it’d play out and it still may not. There’s obviously some good competition going on which is awesome. It’s not a scenario in which we think it’ll be a weak spot. Honestly is there a weak spot on this team? It’s hard to poke many holes other than just the obvious unknown newbies. (DEs WRs & kickers) I really don’t think there’s going to be something where teams can come at us and say they can take advantage of this guy or that guy all game long. I’m tickled where we are so far and can’t wait for season to start.

Ok, so maybe he was just sitting on the toilet or something. Interesting that the decision seems to be made.

Fisher I believe was not named the starter until about a week before the opening game last year.

I'm sure the competition isn't over, and Mends took all the snaps at WLB on Saturday's kids day. Either way I feel good about the depth at LB right now, as I think both will be very capable players.

A quote from the article; "I had been hearing this alignment was possible heading into camp. Iowa has always tried to get its best players on the field and, like Fisher, Bower possesses the versatility to move and the experience to win the job from younger players." This is almost exactly what I told you folks. Do you really think I'm just making things up? Or maybe I talk to coaches, players (maybe I even talked to Bo) and am knowledgeable, and then share with you what I learn...hmmm...Anyone want to talk about Iowa's schemes and calls?

Should have said Bowers was at OLB, and Mends at WLB. At least according to another site.
That's not what I was 'picking' on you about. Yes, Mends ran with the 1's at the Will and Bowers ran with the 1's at LEO at Kids day. What I was referring to is you saying he took ALL the snaps at Kids day, when obviously numerous others took snaps at the Will that day....just being my smart ass self, never mind..................

If Bower is the starter than I will believe Icke has inside info. Normally the "it doesn't matter" depth chart would have the guy like bower starting due to experience and the guy like Mends 2nd team. The fact that Bower was 2nd string even tho he was more experienced made it pretty "obvious" Mends was a legit first string. To call that one takes either an out of left field guess or inside knowlege. Icke is too full of himself to put his money on an out of left field guess.

So Ickehawk, why are they leaning towards Bower after listing Mends? Is Mends struggling or is Bower really stepping up?
