BTN 2 Go

I don't get it. It says

In addition, BTN2Go is a great option if you live outside the Big Ten footprint and your provider does not offer all the Extra Football Game Channels. It’s free to subscribers of participating providers, and you can access it here.

I click on the link and has nothing to buy or whatever. I am in Texas and have Comca$t, and they blow of course. My sis in law lives 1 mile away and has AT&T and played last weeks game. I couldn't get it on Comcast at my house. How does the BTN2Go work?

You can't buy it. You either get it free with your cable subscription, or you don't get it at all. No exceptions unless you live overseas. The way it works is you click around until you find the game that you want, you click on it, then it will go to a site where you have to select your cable company and login in with a pre-existing account that you have through them. It's great if you can get it, and totally sucks if you can't. What I used to do before Mediacom added it was use my grandparent's DirecTV account log-in info. I suggest you get a password from a friend or relative.

I think what the op was asking about was if you live in an area where your local provider doesn't offer it then you won't be able to select a provider. If that's the case they probably shouldn't be advertising that you can use it if you don't have the option?

This is the first year I don't have have a cable provider. I decided that with netflix and all the stuff I can watch for free on the web it wasn't worth paying for Direct TV anymore. The one thing I was worried about was Hawkeye games, but it seems like there are enough streaming options out there so it's ok.

I've used it many times on my phone and it's awesome when you can't be home

Are you piggy backing off of you wireless Internet or someone else's or do have an unlimited data plan on your cell phone? I'd hate to see my data bill at the end of the month after watching three or four games on my iPhone 5 if I was soley running it with out a wifi connection. Might be cheaper to by tickets and fly into watch the game in person. Two gigs a month doesn't take long to use up. Thanks verison

Not so fast my friend! I want to give credit to the expert T-bone Hawkeye. He is an expert on streaming all Hawkeye games. So if you want it bad enough you can find it on the web. Just Google his name And it will take you to a competitor's forum where you can get all the information. His link to BTN2go works beautifully on the iPhone.
