Bruce Pearl & Tennessee Being Investigated

This is not a joke, but were there any recruits we were in on that commited to Tennessee?
 
Lying to the NCAA investigators is going to figure prominently in the penalty phase.
 
I recall Jon saying that he did not want BP as the Iowa HC and eluded to him being on the dirty side (if memory serves).

I'll come clean and admit to being one of those Hawkeye fans hoping that Iowa basketball hire Steve Forbes as the next head coach (realizing they were not going to get Pearl). Given that Forbes was also penalized, I will admit to being wrong, and say I'm glad Forbes didn't get the Iowa job.

wow I'll eat crow now...thank god we didn't get Pearl or Forbes...looks like the SEC changed them a bit.
 
Wow, the guy who blows the whistle on Illannoy years ago gets caught with his hands in the cookie jar himself. Yikes.

I bet Illinois fans are loving this.
 
I still think he is a hell of a coach though and very passionate about his teams. However, it certainly does not look good being busted. But, I am sure Bruce is not the only one out there doing these things. College sports can be a doggy-dog world.
 
I was a fan of Bruce Pearl and wanted him to replace Alford/Lickliter but now not so much. There's a bit of irony in the former whistleblower now being the one on whom the whistle is being blown.
 
I still laugh at that mod from the Kentucky site posting things on here about what a mistake it would be for Iowa to not hire Steve Forbes. People on this board were swallowing that hook, line and sinker.

I wonder if he'll show back-up now?
 
Like I said at the time, I live in the Mid-South and knew Forbes was not a viable option. I said it with vehemence at the time and got hammered for it. Glad to be vindicated.
