decent game tonight but that has to go. Come on man. You are not Carmello. You are a slow white guy that plays for Iowa. Get rid of it NOW!!! And don't get me started on tattoos and headbands...I must be old. Oh, and the shorts down to the ankles...yeah, that needs to stop too.

I'm not sure of the specific reason for Brommer but I know of others that have suffered "tennis elbow" or tendinitis and the sock helps maintain warmth and circulation to lessen the pain.

tendinitis, it keeps compression on the arm. or perhaps he has stitches or a scrape that he wants to keep protected. maybe Fran doesnt allow tattoos that far down the arm?

How? Seriously, how does it help them?

Keep keep you muscle loose and warm, especially helpful when sitting for long periods of time. It also stabilizes your arm when shooting. If you think that he wears it for style, that's laughable.

Iverson started the "arm sock" thing, I doubt Brommer (or anybody else) wants to be like A.I. these days

They're good for compression. I wore UnderArmour tights, even in baseball season, for that reason.

Some of those sleeves (the Nike Combat ones) also have padding on the elbow.

Hmmm. Perhaps we should also bring back the two-handed set-shot and the under-handed free throw?

If you really need something to get your knickers in a knot, I'll confess that when I referee soccer my 57-year-old white a** is wrapped up in compression shorts under my uniform to maintain warmth and upper leg flexibility, hopefully reducing the chance of strains, sprains and hammy pulls.

I suppose some would view that as offensive.

Is there any correlation between the arm sock and how many fouls Brommer committs 35 feet from the basket on a player that is 6 inches shorter than him?

If such a stat was kept, Brommer would be leading the nation.

Andrew Brommer= the best hedger out on a screen in the country!!!

EddyP's complaints about the arm-sock has to be one of the dumbest I've read yet about a basketball player's appearance.

Why not complain about his "Jordan-esque" knee wrap as well?

Or, what gives with Basabe's t-shirt under his jersey? Does he think he's Patrick Ewing or something?

Sheesh, of all the nits to pick you choose this one.

Tattoos I think I have to agree are generally pretty stupid.

Don't agree with the arm sock, but the 6' UNI white guy with tattoos completely covering his arms almost made me gag. Wait 'til you're in the NBA to get those Mr. Big shot UNI basketball player! :). Plus the O'Rear guy not cutting the back of his hair? UNI's guys have some issues. Iowa's I can live with.

Les Jepsen agrees, when you got arms and legs this sexy you need to show them off!

Brommer has been a bit too aggressive on the hedge. The goal is to redirect the player to slow him down and prevent him from turning the corner. You do not have to stop him cold in his tracks to be effective on the hedge.

Take it easy out there Brommer, we need to reserve your fouls for preventing layups. Otherwise, pretty good game last night. Great pass to May on the back cut.

Brommer had 2 assists last night that were fantastic. In addition, I saw more hustle out of him than usual including some key boards. If it takes an arm band to get those results, please do NOT remove it.
