Brohm Staying at Purdue

Big Ten is getting better every year. Hopefully we can keep up.

Thats exactly what I am thinking. The offense needs to evolve.

Iowa needs a good OLine unit not 1 good player

Iowa needs a better QB - hope someone can develop to deliver that

Iowa needs better running backs

Iowa needs better wide receivers.

Yes, what you’re really saying is that our recruiting largely isn’t getting it done. Purdue will bring in the top 5 recruiting class despite horrible recent history, passing Iowa who is standing still. Makes you consider if Iowa has a negative branding problem based on what has been established largely by our longstanding coaching staff. Times have the potential to get even tougher quickly due to 2 coaches who have already shown they will out-recruit Iowa - Brohm and Frost.

Sad day for Louisville. I don’t think Purdue is out of the woods on people chasing Brohm.

Someone like USC or tOSU could come along and make him reconsider his stay at Purdue.
One way to know your coach sucks is when he stays forever. Having your coach wanted by the outside world is the healthiest thing possible

Louisville is a sewer. I think its just a matter of them until the NCAA nails them. My theory is that they were paying a lot of their players. When the Feds came down on the BBall coach and the AD was fired and the papa johns's guy got in trouble ...the cash stopped. Then the attitudes went back.

The rumor is David Bell has cancelled his official visit to Iowa since Jeff Brohm is staying.... just great. It wouldn’t surprise me if Jeff Brohm is bringing some SEC style recruiting to Purdue. The dude flat out lied when he said there was nothing going on with Louisville.

That sucks. I guess we will have to put up with him.

Why everyone is so impressed with Brohm no idea. The guy is a 6-6 coach. They got blown out by Minny, lost to E. Michigan and barley beat Indiana to make the Car Care Bowl. So far his win rate is about equal to Purdue's historic win rate, better than Hazel but equal to the prior few coaches before that. I don't think Hazel's weak spot was recruiting either..

That's just it. Win a big game or two with some fun to watch style on prime time TV and the rest don't matter... I don't blame him for not going home to Louisville. That place is a total rebuild I think. When he says the timing wasn't right it wasn't on his side so much as the situation Louisville is in. There's no reason for him to take a step back and that's what that'd be it's not even sideways to where Purdue is now.

This is the same guy that was one foot out the door to TN last yr. Not a ton has changed in a year for him has it? Purdue isn't on the cusp of doing anything crazy special they'll have a new QB next yr to break in. They do have an exciting player in Moore no doubt but no coach would hang their hat on one kid. Brohm will have better offers down the road and I wouldn't be surprised if he has pro aspirations. I think he's got 1 maybe 2 more yrs at Purdue tops...
