I have a "nice" camera. I read on the site lenses 6 inches or more are not allowed. My 300mm lenses is exactly 6 inches (give or take where you measure it). Is it beat to leave at home or is this not something they enforce unless it is an obviously big zoom lens?
I can't bring any of my long glass because of the rule so all my DSLRs stay at home. My answer was to purchase a point and shoot w/ a 30x "super zoom". That's a 24-720mm equivalent. W/ the zoom retracted all the way the entire camera is about 6" from the back to the lens cap and I just sling it over my shoulder and walk right in. As an added bonus the thing lets you shoot 1080p/30 simultaneously w/ 16mp stills. And if you are picky, it does raw files as well.
I'm attaching a couple pix - Boilermaker Joe is about to get hit with a snowball coming in from the right in the first and Josey Jewell is watching his gap in the second. Both were taken from the same spot. I had to scale them @ 40% to meet the filesize limit here .
