Bring back the passion

I don't expect a whole lot of wins this season, but I can actually say I am starting to get somewhat excited about Iowa basketball again for the first time in a long time. For the first time in about 5 years I actually am paying attention to when the games are and making it an appointment to watch ( I even listened to some of the games on the radio, I can't remember the last time I did that!)

I really hope Fran can turn things around, but I have to think we at least have a positive start by having a more exciting brand of basketball that can be somewhat entertaining. I know the competition was weak, but it sure was fun watching us trap and run against SIU Edwardsville.

Agreed.. I know this year will be a struggle in the Big Ten most likely, but the game against SIUE was the most fun I'd had watching the Hawks play in several years.. Probably since at least the 2005 season where we won 25 games. Gotta give it a few years and see where we are by around 2013 or so, but I think Fran can get it done.

I'll know the passion is back when I start getting nervous before games against ranked opponents, and upset if/when we lose! I'm not there quite yet, but I don't think it would take alot to bring that all back, and I'm at least enjoying watching the team play again and legitemately looking forward to tonight's game, which is a good start.

Ok, think I'm "there" now. I am PO'ed after losing the game in heart-breaking fashion, and I was actually nervous during the last couple minutes of the game. Haven't felt that way in a long time..
