I don't think it's as dumb if a decision as some might think. Look at the first round last year, at least half the 1st round guys outside of the top 10 (10-30), spent most if not all the year in the D league.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, the NBA is a different animal right now. It is dang tough to make it in that league.
I think coming back for an additional year of school improving your game and continuing to play on the big stage might be a good decision for some. Some guys never make it out of the D-league.
As far as injuries I think you can take out a pretty healthy insurance policy.
I haven't heard on Swanigan but as far as Iowa goes I don't think it matters that much. I don't think we are ready to make a run at B1G title just yet. Come tourney and seeding time it might be nice if the B1G has a little respect on the big stage for us.
Edit: Maybe we can avoid playing them twice.
