Brian Ferentz Speaking in Des Moines

Are they doing fewer of these? I don't even see where they did or are doing one in Omaha/Council Bluffs this year, which is a big mistake in my book. Those things are packed and they piss off the Skers like no other, they typically send a OWH guy to spy on the jokes Dolph tells about them.

Looks like KF yes, FM no. Speraw scheduled for men's basketball.

That isn't what I got in the US mail a couple weeks ago. Says Kirk and Fran will be in attendance. Have magneted up on the fridge. Was surprised because I saw the Speraw thing previous to it.

I thought they had a stop in Western Iowa within the last few weeks.

Typically they hit CB/Omaha right around the beginning of May. That is the Nile Kinnick I Club, which was always kind of run a little short from a social media and advertising stand point. I'm sure it was probably ran by an old boy who doesn't really use computers... but according to their social media, the last thing they had was last May. If it came to town, I didn't hear about it and I typically go every year (as long as they at least put something up about it)

Nice, I missed it and I would have loved to attend that. I don't think it was heavily advertised cause this has to be the first time that both Kirk or whoever the men's hoops coach didn't attend. This also used to be at a huge venue - either the ballroom at a hotel in Omaha or the Mid American Center in CB - typically about 500 or so Hawks. Thunderhead Brewing is pretty small. I am sure it was a schedule thing, I just hope they intend to keep a good foot print on this side of the state, us Hawkeye fans need it.

They've changed the rubber chicken tour this year, from what I can gather.

They're smaller gatherings at different venues than they've used in the past. It also seems like more assistant coaches and fewer dates for the head coaches.

I haven't researched it, though.

Just got an e-mail from Athletics Dept that says both Kirk and Fran will be in CR on June 19. So believe they just had not updated the web page.

My understanding is that he started the meeting with 5 minutes of self deprecating humor that no one understood. The next 5 minutes talking about Belichick and the Patriots and how he almost ruined Gronk. He then talked for 5 minutes about why running the ball is important and how the casual fan doesn't understand the reason why they do it in situations where the other team has 11 men on the line of scrimmage. Then he talked for five minutes on his dad forgetting more football than he knows...which leaves the crowd wondering why he was hired.

Since I was not in attendance I want to thank you for your objective analysis of BF’s remarks.

Sounds like a chip off the old block. As to the last comment, I imagine some people were thankful for that. I might be too if it would include the stretch plate to the short side of the field.

B. Ferentz knows he was born into a good gig. I think he should take a HC job elsewhere to make his own way (to an extent).
