Brandon Hutton

Just looking on the map where Hutton's HS is. He is about as far into downtown Chicago as you can get. Fran has definitely increased the inner city presence on the Iowa team with Dickerson (New York City) and now Hutton. That's got to be good for recruiting city kids.

To be honest though, he recruited Dickerson out of Northwestern North Dakota, from a city that is 95% white and men out number women 70:1.

And also the sheep are nervous as well....
No sheep. Just oilwells. Still, a hole in the ground is still... They shipped like 20,000 guys in to work the wells in the past decade, and cram them in "man camps" (this is what they're literally called).

Brandon Hutton has been invited to the Reebok all-star game. They only invite the top 125 players. He kind of reminds me of Jimmy Jackson as far as his built. Both are pretty athletic and muscular guys. Hutton is working on his shot and Jackson was a pretty good shooter at Ohio State.

Agree with the Jimmy Jackson comparison, physically....that guy was always put together.

Needs to get better dribbling with his left hand and looks tentative doing it. That can be fixed with practice and all reports suggest he has the work ethic to do so. Repeats his release point, so his j' could become money with repetition. Again, he has the work ethic. I think this kid has a boatload of talent. Might be a "later bloomer" in college, but when he gets there, he could be something really good.

I'm not disagreeing with your post...agree with what you said. I want to add that he's supposed to be a lock down defensive player and looks the part. The offensive game may take some time but the defense should be there from day 1. How about a James Winters offensive package to start which expands during his time at Iowa?

I like the James Winters offensive comparison, to start. When he is a soph and Jok is a sr, watch out.
