Brandon:
“My teammates believe in me, and that’s why I hit the shot. It’s all about doing it for them,†said Hutton, who finished with a game-high 14 points. “I had to stay calm and maintain my focus. The play was drawn up for me, so I had to focus and make the shot. The last sequence is when teams find a way to come together through the highs and lows. I thought the free throw was going in, but it went a little left. I’ll be working on those in practice tomorrow. I knew I had to make up for it. Luckily, I forced the turnover and was able to knock down the big shot.â€

His coach:
“Brandon is the first one in the gym and the last one to leave,†said White. “His practice yesterday was outstanding. Not only was he the best defender out on the floor, but he was the best coach out there, too. He gets these guys to understand what needs to be done.â€

Clutch.... Need more of that. What I love is that he'd just missed a free throw before that. So he's a mentally tough kid that's not afraid to be the man. Pretty sure we can find a place for a kid like that.

I love hearing stuff like this. Seems like the type of player that works his tail off to get better, but also will help his teammates get better, too.

Hutton sounds like a real leader. Can never have too much of that.

“Brandon is the first one in the gym and the last one to leave,” said White. “His practice yesterday was outstanding. Not only was he the best defender out on the floor, but he was the best coach out there, too. He gets these guys to understand what needs to be done.”
