Davis had a losing record in his four seasons at Stanford. His conference record was 25-47.

Davis also inherited a ton of talent at Iowa and was able to implement a system that the rest of the Big Ten was not prepared for. He was able to use that momentum to spring board his recruiting.

Regardless, what Davis did is not relevant to Boylen.

For those worried about anyone's record last year, go look up Tom Davis' record at Stanford prior to being hired at Iowa. A friend of mine pointed this out to me.
