Bowl Tickets

I just booked my trip through Priceline and now looking at game tickets.

What does everyone expect to pay? Tickets on vivid and stub hub are pricey! Best I’ve seen for where I’m willing to sit is about $100 without fees and it’s nothing special. Goaline-ish.

Don't overreact now...the matchups were just announced so fans are trying to lock their trip up asap. Let the tickets marinate in secondary markets. Soon the schools will start selling their allotments and more tickets will start flooding in.

The past several years this game has had a stated attendance of less than 55k. I'm sure that is tickets sold, too. When you watch the stands, this thing has damned near as many empty seats as a NASCAR race. Not sure how Mississippi State will travel, but I would anticipate some fairly cheap seats a week or two before the game.

I live in the Nashville area and my hunch is Mississippi State will have 30k fans. They will outnumber Iowa fans.

I would wait on tickets until the week before the game.
Although both teams aren't blue-blood national brands, I don't see tickets getting cheaper than $75.

I've been to the Outback Bowl 3 times are barely see scalpers outside of the stadium.
The UIowa will be seats, either on the 3rd level or the end zone.
It's tougher to find secondary tickets on the 1st and 2nd level for the Outback Bowl.

We're just going to buy a couple days before, or scalp when we get down there. When we went to the Rose Bowl, there were guys scalping good tickets for like $25/each on the way into the stadium. No way am I overpaying for a bowl ever again.

I was there and heard $50/tickets, but I got into the stadium at least an hour before kickoff.
Never thought they would get that cheap, considering tickets to Indy were $300/each, right before kickoff.

I think if you are going to a NY6 bowl or playoff/NC title game, you probably want to have tickets in hand before you leave. For a lower tier bowl game, though, there's probably no point because it won't be a sellout. For example, I wouldn't have wanted to show up at the 2003 Orange Bowl without a ticket, but I'd have no problem rolling to the Outback Bowl without a ticket in hand. Worst case you can probably buy one at the ticket office or on your phone 30 minutes before kickoff.
