BOLD predictions

You honestly think Clinton Solomon is/was better than McNutt will be? Hinkle has to be right up there as far as fewest dropped passes doesn't he? I don't remember seeing him drop any....

I recall Hinkle having a ball go right through his hands at UW and it getting picked off. I think he also broke his arm later in the game or maybe on that play after he got hit (after it went right through his arms). I believe that game was Alvarez's last home conference game at UW and IA went up there and King and Kroul had a bit of a coming out party. It was awesome ruining Alvarez's night! All that spewed, I never thought Hinkle was anything special. After the Alamo Bowl I thought Brodell was much better, but that seemed to be his career peak.

I could be wrong, but I don't think he intended it to be a racist remark, just a hunch...

Your probably right. I just hate when the race card is played as a basis for talent on a team. example: too many white guys on a basketball court, the black QB debate, etc... If they can play they can play and that's all that matters.

Big ten-four. Sometimes "observations" on skin color get taken and ran with.... People are still allowed to observe and state facts without being biggots though too.

Ed Hinkle, Clinton Solomon, and Scott Chandler were better IMO. And yes I know Chandler was a TE. Also Warren Holloway was also with that crew even though he was an unknown until the Cap. One Bowl

Chandler was a decent TE but he wasn't all that fast. His main asset was that he was 6'7. Ed Hinkle was a excellent reciever, but I don't think he was as fast as McNutt, KMM or Davis. Clinton was also a decent reciever but he was not near as productive as McNutt. KMM and Davis may also surpass any marks he made.

A lot of a recievers effectness or percieved ability is tied to the QB. (and the rest of the O) KMM, McNutt and Davis with Vandenburg may form one of the top offensive groups that Iowa has ever produced.

My bold prediction- People will spell Ed Hinkel wrong until the end of time. It happened 4 times in this thread alone.

Sure seems like it.

My bold prediction is that our defense will continue to be brutal. Oh wait, that isnt very bold

Contrary to what some folks on these boards seem to think .... I predict that Iowa will hold a Big 10 "spread" team to UNDER 320 yards. In fact, I predict that Iowa will hold 2 of such teams to UNDER 370 yards!

This flies in the face of some of those folks who seem to believe that Iowa will give up 400 to 500 yards to any Big 10 spread O that has a pulse.
