yes it was after the plans and money was spent on E. Washington's new field. Black would be ferocious on those late august early september games (as far as field temperature). Imagine what a construction worker feels like walking a freshly paved asphalt. I think that we should have as dark a green as you can get. Like maybe for every 1 green piece of grass there is 2 black pieces. still "technically" meeting the requirement of green, but being as dark as possible. You could also have an all black surface running from the standium seating up to the white sideline. If we ever did a blackout at night again, we should turn off two of the four imported stadium lights and do our swarm under a "blackout" (however these lights take forever to power up)
I also think that Kinnick stadium should get that stuff that you spray in the bed of a truck (bed liner) and spray the stadium black, everything but the beautiful brick exterior. Other teams do this same method to appear sold out even when they are not, by having red seats at a cardinal game, for example.
