There have been various discussions about Bohannon in several threads. I was curious about a couple of things so I looked them up and figured I would share.

Bohannon - 9 PPG - 4.9 APG - 2.3 TPG - 34.3% from 2 - 89.3% at the line - 35.7% from 3

Gesell (Freshman) - 8.7 PPG - 2.6 APG - 1.7 TPG - 40.3% from 2 - 79.4% at the line - 31.7% from 3

Jok (Sophomore) - 35.8% from 2 - 90.2% at the line - 34.3% from 3

I wanted to know how Bohannon compared to Gesell on the offensive end of the floor. And I was curious how Bohannon's shooting percentages compared to Jok as a sophomore...

Bohannon is shooting 31.5% from 2, not 34.3%

Mike shot 45.9% from 2 as a freshman, not 40.3%

Fan's beef with Bohannon is his lack of quickness on both offense and defense. If Bohannon even had just the quickness of Gesell, you wouldn't see as much complaining about PG this year. If he had quickness like Ulis or even let's say a Trey Dickerson and/or Mike Henderson, I think almost all fans would be on board with Bo. Even the most pro Fran fans, deep down know that Fran has lacked landing that type of PG and have serious doubts that he will ever land one.

It's funny that you bring up Trey Dickerson in pushing your narrative that Iowa needs a quick PG... how'd that work out?!

IMO there isn't a one size fits all "PG". I bring up this example a lot because I watch a lot of UW basketball but it continues to fall on deaf ears. Bronson Koenig is not a quicker than a hiccup type point guard that you guys keep pushing for. He's got okay quickness but doesn't take a ton of guys off the dribble. He only averages 2 assists per game in his career. He's been to two final fours and a sweet sixteen. I'd take him as my point guard even though he isn't lightning quick like Tyler Ulis.

Koenig is more athletic than you give him credit for, has great size for a PG and was a highly sought after recruit

Read his post again, slowly, and then pick up the point you missed in your quick response to change the narrative....again.

I never said you had to have a lightning quick PG to be successful. Koenig's size and abilities make up for what he lacks in athleticism even though he is pretty quick off the dribble

Jordan 9 PPG Mike career 8.0 PPG ------ Jordan
Jordan 4.9 APG Mike career 4.2 APG ----- Jordan
Jordan 46.4 eFG% Mike career 44.3 eFG% ----- Jordan
Jordan 49.9 TS% Mike career 48.3 TS% ------- Jordan

Jordan is a better scorer, better assist man, and better shooter. Jordan is already a better offensive player as a Fr than Mike was over his entire career.

Jordan isn't the defender that Mike was. Overall though, pretty darn good, and Jordan is better offensive than several 4* PG that are also learning the D1 Game as Fr.

Let's go back a little further to a more highly regarded Iowa point guard.

Bohannon - 9 PPG - 4.9 APG - 2.3 TPG - 34.3% FG % - 89.3% at the line - 35.7% from 3

Horner - 8.2 PPG - 4.5 APG - 2.5 TPG - 33.2% FG % - 76.7% at the line - 27.7% from 3

Note - My "from 2" percentage in the initial post should have been FG %.

You completely missed my point. I'll give you a hint..
Could Dickerson shoot threes like Bohannon?
