Bob Sanders done for the year

There was a lot of chatter on the ESPN blog by Colts fans stating all the serious injuries could be caused from the usage of steroids. I know the guy plays above his size, but it does make sense.

It wouldn't account for all of them. And if he were juicing using more modern methods (meaning HGH), even the tendon injuries don't add up. Barry Bonds tore up his arm in the late '90s because he wasn't on HGH, and the tendons were too weak to support the muscle. But if he were on HGH, then steroids wouldn't explain it, because that's why guys take HGH with steroids, so they can strengthen ligaments and tendons.

Ya, I don't know much about it, I just know it was creating a stir over there? I would never accuse a Hawk player of doing so.

The reason Colts posters are writing this, is that this injury is highly prevalent in steroid users, but very rare overall. Now Bob has suffered it on each arm. I hope there is nothing to this, but when Bob did it the first time, there was a lot of chatter about it. Anyway, it looks like he is doing everything humanly possible to get back on the field after having surgery, and Bill Polian stated tonight that the Colts are going to make a go with 52 players with the hope that Bob can rejoin the team before the end of the season. The rest of the team knows that they are playing for his job, because if they continue losing, they are going to have to go full strength, which means IR, the end of his season, and the end of Bob in Indy. He is a very popular teammate, so it should make for a very interesting dynamic here in Indy for 10-12 weeks... However, long story short. The Hitman is definitely not done yet.

are you kidding me? that guy is the best "biggest-little guy" to leave iowa since #6 (who had a surprisingly long career.) He has a bad case of the moeaki's (sorry tony), except he caught it in the pro's. i hope everyone counts him out, and my chiefs pick him up! a guy that passionate does not give up so easily.

If i were him i would ask myself 1."what has football given me?" 2."can I still compete?" 3."what do i have to lose?"

If i were him i would answer: 1.everything 2.most definitely 3.Movement of my outer extremities.

He is the biggest bad a$$ to play safety in the league since Ronnie Lott, why would you not try to continue?

sad to say - but this guy is more brittle than a saltine cracker.

I wouldn't say he's brittle. He's just too small to play the way he does. He could do it in college because he was going against lesser athletes, but not against NFL pros. I have had the opportunity to meet Bob on a few occasions, and I look the guy straight in the eye; He is just that small.

Not to say that small guys can't compete in the NFL, but it is very difficult for them to carve out a career of being a head-hunting badass the way Sanders has. Simple physics backs this fact up. If he were 6" 230lbs, he wouldn't have this problem.

.

i believe you answered your own question. is football really worth not being able to move and play with your kids/grandchildren? i certainly hope the answer is no to that question

i made it a point to put that in there, they take that risk every sunday. Football has given him everything, and its the only thing that would continue making him a milionaire. that decision is very easy
