Board Observation- Maybe Jon Can Help?

I'm guessing that a lot of people are caught in a "wait and see" type situation.

Hawks really didn't look very good the first 3 games. The last couple of games, they have looked very good. I'm hoping that means that the team has turned the corner, but there is a little part of me that is afraid that the last couple of teams have really just been really, really, really bad.

There is a lot of reason for optimism right now. Let's hope that they can continue to improve and play well against the much bigger boys that are coming up on the schedule.

I've posted this for the last 13 years or so...negativity brings out more posters and posts..negative emotions elicit stronger responses, in general, than positive ones at places like this. Regardless of how sad that is, it's reality.

Oh, Jon ... at 5.3 posts / day (2nd to only your 9.7 / day?), S-136 already knew all this. However, since he got you to nibble, he's got to be relishing your validation of his blatantly biased inference.

It's just like the news my man. People tune in when there's a train crash, and tune out when everything is rainbows and butterflies. The board is a place for people to vent their frustrations because they feel like their opinion is being heard even if it means absolutely nothing. There's a lot more frustrations to be shared after a loss than there is after a win.

It is sad. Specially when guys like us frequent the boards all year long and witness some of the moronic comments made during the offseason. The joys of "anonymous" message board posting.

True; the above is an observative inquiry. However ...

... is your speculative (baiting?) conclusion as to fact and explanation.

What? Me mad? Nah, Brah. I'm just making observations, too.;) You, OK4P, Ghost are all Masters at what you do. I actually think it's funny and respect your efforts, most of the time. It's led to some classic moments and epic threads.

Keep up the good work! Once in a while some of us are keeping up with you, too.:cool:
 


I'm a kf critic and I predicted this is exactly where Iowa would be at this point. I picked they'd lose to NI and win the last three non con and have two big 10 wins. I picked them to beat minny before the season as well, so here we are. I'm not posting much because, as I said, they are right where I predicted and I'm kinda bored with it really. It's funny how up some guys are about the team now based on recent Iowa football history. I mean, they were beaten by a good MAC team that most upper half BCS conference team would beat easily. They beat three very bad teams, one being a 1aa team, and a big 10 team. Event though minny can't pass the ball, it was a good win as every big 10 victory is a good win. I've been following kf long enough to know how the rest of the season where coaching will play a big part as the talent gets tougher.

This team is going to win 7 Buddy. I really belive it. Coaches are all on board. Guys are playing hard, and bounces are going our way

I think there are 2 or 3 more wins out there, and then Iowa will go bowling, which would be a tremendous achievement for this team.

Iowa is headed in the right direction once again.

The reason posts are down is that many of them are disguised Iowa State fans who only post when Iowa is losing. When Iowa wins, only Iowa fans post.

It doesn't require a degree in rocket science to understand this concept. This is a free board, so Iowa State fans can post, which they love to do.

I am skeptical. There are not enough cyclown fans in the world to make a noticeable difference on forum traffic.

Greg Davis has seemed to make the right calls the last 2 games. Going play-action with the defense is stuffing the box, etc., going screen when the defense is stuffing the box.

He's playing. But, he can't seem to get open very much.

That screen play in the 4th quarter was a great call. Rudock looked everyone off on the right side, and came back to Bullock on the short side of the field. One block of a LB away from that coming close, if not, scoring.

Well I guess we got the answer to this.....site activity seems to be wayyyyyy up.
 




If its possible for one to smirk on the Internet OPs first post did it, that's been wiped off now.
