Bluntly put

I talked about the fear of fran thing when mike missed those free throws at ISU and was laughed at.

C'mon. Mike has missed his free thows all season. Maybe it could be the fact it was to tie or go ahead in a huge game in Ames. I agree about the Fran thing to an extent but don't blame Mike missing 2 free throws on that.

MG and Marble should never leave the damn court!!!! If they do it is only for a spell. Marble played 36, but late in game was on the Bench for a little over a minute. That is just poor game management by Fran.

I have no idea what Fran even thinks he is accomplishing at the end a half when he take MG out to put Marble at the point that is down right criminal to have MG sitting in that situation. It completely disrupts the offensive flow...

Final Note: MG played just 26 minutes tonight.. That is a TRAVESTY!!!!!

MG cannot go 40 minutes, towards the end of the game his shots were coming up short because he had no legs which I also think affected his free throw shooting.

honestly, i don't care about MG's shooting. MG is far and away our best ball handler and facilitator on this team. he NEEDS to be on the court as much as possible. but i will say, wasn't MG in a little foul trouble last night? i honestly forget but i was thinking he had 3 fairly early in the second half.

Mike did have some foul trouble. Secondly, he was chasing Yogi Farrell all night...and, how many points did ol' yogi have? But, that had to take something out of him. Putting SAP in to chase Yogi is a good move...SAP is a very good defensive player. The missed free throws had nothing to do with taking him out...he shoots 66% for the year which is obviously a head problem. I think he also got taken out because he had two consecutive turnovers that were pretty dumb. In fact, he had more turnovers in this one game than in the last 2 or 3 combined (I think). Fran only gets mad when a kids REPEATS a mistake...and MG did. Disclosure: I think MG is one of the best point guards in the BT.

Don't be fooled by Yogi's lack of points, most of his misses turned into easy put backs because the center was the last line of defense and many times it left Sheehey wide open and he set his career high last night. Yogi did not score very many points but he was a huge part of the offense last night.

Iowa went 4 of 20 from the arc last nite....and they were wide open shots. IU shot 40% from the arc. If Iowa shoots 40% from the arc last nite, they make 8 shots instead of 4...that is 12 more points. Mikey struggled shooting last nite again...he has wide open shots from the arc....just one of his worst games, imo.

Lots of theories abound, but if Iowa could have shot better, they win last nite. Dakich kept saying that IU giving Iowa wide open shots will catch up to them...but it never did. We need to get hot again from the arc...then we will win a lot of games the rest of the way.

Why do fans feel compelled to go to extremes like ...''Iowa will not win another game...or Iowa is NIT bound''?
Is it simply the message board mantra that being extreme is how you get noticed? Or do they really think this?

Everybody in the league has gone thru stretches where some fans, including ours, say...Wis is dead, or OSU sucks and is dead, ect....it is Iowa's turn to be declared dead, but it will not happen. Iowa will be dancing and then is when they really need to shoot it well...like in the NIT last year.
