I like the premise of this new site and look forward to visiting it more often. For some reason however my workplace has blocked it which is weird since I can access hawkeyereport, the old hawkeyenation, and cyclonefanatic...

That is odd...and probably not the kind of thing you want to ask your IT guy about I will talk with ours to see what the problem might be. Could you email me the exact message you are getting?

It is probably being grouped as 'social media', much like facebook, twitter..etc.

go to download.com and download a tiny program called freegate. that should take care of your problems, it did for me.

While I don't condone going around IT policy, using a proxy will allow you to get around this sort of thing.

However, that's just a bandaid, not a fix. What likely has happened is that the web filtering service your company is using doesn't have the new IP address in its database (or it has a conflicting address).

I'm thinking this is probably what it is. When I try to go to it the page either says it's unavailable or it will show the blockpage address at the top but it won't give me a message as to why it's blocked. Normally if you go to a blocked site it will tell you why it's blocked. Guess I'll just wait a few days and access it via iPhone during the day

It's just the opposite for me, last week they put a block on "sports" and "message boards" so I can't get to the old Hawkeyenation, hawkeyereport, or even cyclonefanatic, but this site works.

Just tried it again this afternoon and it loads up now at work. Awesome!

As for what you're going through, if my workplace blocked sports and message boards I would burn the place down...ok not really. The only things my workplace blocks is porn, gambling, games, and streaming video and audio however I can use MLB Gameday Audio to listen to day Cub games...go figure.

This is likely because hawkeyenation.com uses a shared hosting provider, so it's sharing its IP Address with other domains. If one of those domains is "questionable", the IP gets blocked regardless of what else is using it. Using one site, here is a list of other domains that reside on the same IP as hawkeyenation.com. Some of these may not be 100% accurate, but I tested about 10, and out of those 10, 1 was inaccurate. The rest all resolved to the same IP as hawkeyenation.com.

Bumping this thread because I have a question: What site do I go to in order to get streaming audio of the Hawks' games? I'll be at work, and I don't know if I can pick up either WMT, KXIC or WHO on the radio with all the computers we have in our office.
