Black 'N' Gold Out

If they do poms, they need to hand them out at the gates. Students are stupid and don't seem to grasp why they are placed at each seat. So they hoard as many as they can, leaving the upper levels pretty bare for poms, meanwhile you've got dumba**es walking around with three in their hat, one in each sock, and two in each hand.

I like the all gold better. More impressive for viewers watching on tv. Black can actually make it look like the stands are empty, or at least make it hard to tell how big the crowd is. I was at OSU '06, and at Michigan game '09. I then watched clips of both on tv later. All gold out was amazing. People I know that aren't Iowa fans went out of their way to comment on it to me.

OSU '06 was a Gold Rush game, but '09 Michigan was a Black Out game.

HAWKEYESTATE4ever - that's what I was trying to say. Gold out vs. OSU was more impressive, in my opinion.

Gotcha! I thought that might be it. I think 06 OSU was better atmopshere, but I think that may have something to do with us playing the #1 team in America, and also having GameDay in town?

One simple thing would have made this much easier to accomplish...print "wear black" or "wear gold" on the ticket itself. The vast majority of tickets sold were season tickets, so this would have gotten the message out effectively, and without spending any marketing dollars to do so.
