The black and gold striping was awesome to behold!

Once a year is enough. It was awesome and we should most certainly do it again however, if you do something like this too much it loses some of the magic.

How about just beating tOSU?

Absolutely not.

What we should do is black and gold alternating every other row. So that you have 'horizontal stripes' instead of the 'vertical stripes' from Saturday.

I kind of like this idea, but horizontal stripes aren't very slimming. I kid...I kid.

Anyway, if you did this you'd have to do more than one row of each color. Maybe rows 1-5 in black, 6-10 in gold, 11-15 in black, 16-20 in gold, etc. Student section in black and the whole south end zone all in gold.

It would be a lot harder to do later in the year. There's a lot more people out there with black coats and hooded sweatshirts than gold coats.

Wonder how much more merchandise they sold last weekend because of the stripe thingy?

Since the OSU game will be a 2:30 start, I say we just let it be. That was the coolest thing I'd ever seen in Kinnick, but when it's dark it really enhances the effect. It won't get dark in the OSU game til the 4th quarter.

Plus, even once a year for something like THAT is too much. Treat it like PSU does their Whiteouts, and only pull it out for REALLY special occassions.

Personally, the PSU color scheme was the coolest thing I have seen in a football stadium. But, once a year is plenty on that scheme. Now, I do agree #2 for me was the 2006 OSU game gold-out....it made Kinnick look like a shining palace of gold.

I think the OSU game should be a gold out again, but again, the game is what counts.
If it should be for a trip to the Rose Bowl....should do something to make it even more memorable...another gold-out is simple and works for me.

I would only like to see it done again if the Big Ten Title is on the line. In other words, if OSU is undefeated or we both only have one loss. Even then, a blackout makes more sense as HawkeyeMike23 said. Lots of black winter coats, a lot less gold ones.

Is there any possibility that the OSU game will be a night game?

It's an unwritten rule that there are no Big Ten night games after November 1. Technically, it's possible, as there is no set league rule that prohibits it. But it's extremely unlikely. It would be cool though.

I bought two gold hoodies for the game. I agree with posters above. It won't work in really cold weather.

Because of the unwritten rule of the Big Ten not wanting night games after November 1st does that hurt the chance of Gameday coming to IC for the OSU game? I don't think Gameday location has to be a night game but it seems like it always is.

Thanks man.
Since it won't likely be a night game, I'm thinking we leave the stripes concept alone for that game and end it on a high note for the year with the huge participation we had against Penn State. I would like to see us do a black out against Ohio State, though. Especially if the B10 title is on the line like I'm hoping it is.

I prefer a Gold out over a Black out!

Depends on the matchups. I don't remember, but were they at the OSU-Michigan game in 2006? Obviously that was #1-#2, but they have done day games (the Red River Shootout is a 2:30 game too, and they go to that every year).
