Biggest Home game of the Ferentz era?

Well, we can all agree Saturday was a tough lose for sure, but we will have a program defining game on Saturday at Kinnick.

Here is why this is the biggest game in KF era.

1. With a win season will move forward and still be a great success.

2. With a lose we fall to 5-3 with three road games and OSU still at home.

3. KF does not have a good track record of doing well as the favorite and a lose would cement that as cannot deliver when expected. If Iowa wants to be a top 15 program every year must do better as the favorite. KF is master of under sell over deliver but sometimes you have too deliver.

4. With an Iowa lose people will be talking 05 all over again, and might completely lose the team and finish season at 7-5.

So let's get ready for Saturday because it is not only a season defining moment but program defining moment.

Go Hawks!!

For some reason I think it's going to be this, unfortunately.

You give no reasons why??? Nothing from this season has indicated this team quits. NOTHING...two missed extra points is not a complete meltdown.
Special teams is a disaster right now, our defense isn't what we thought it was (have you watched the last two games? Whoever has been running the D while Norm has been out can be removed from the list of his successors imo), MSU is on a roll and if they lose this Saturday their psyche will be in need of major repair. Shall I go on? ;) Like I said, I hope we run the table and Michigan beats Wisky and we are in Pasadena in January, but I just don't like the odds.

I am not sure it is the biggest game that Kirk has had at Iowa at home. But, it might be one of the most important games for him. Being that this is the next big game, it certainly is the focal point. It is quite important because the danger is if you lose this game, you are going into a further downward spiral with too much talent to be sitting at 5-3. You would lose 2 big games back to back at home. You could very well lose this team looking ahead to what is left. Kirk not only needs this game so when we people look back people will say he still made something out of this season after 2 letdown games (this could be the sparkplug game of the year).

But, the program and players need this to get back some of their edge and manhood. You don't let a team come into Kinnick and push you around like that and out coach you. Especially, despite some of your short-comings, you really are still the better team.

It would be a big win for the team right now. They could knock off a highly ranked (probably overrated though) team, do it at home, and that can give them something to build on as the go into the away games and OSU looking ahead. I hope Kirk has the boys coming out with a lot of fire and determination on Saturday.
