I like the idea of re-branding Iowa basketball: no more TigerHawk -- leave that to football; replace with a modified flying hawk (seems only appropriate with Fran intent on bringing in better athletes, guys who can "fly"); sure, change the sideline back to yellow.

I think a design similar to this which incorporates both colors would look the best. Also, on the flying herky at center court, I asked Gary Barta about having the flying herky back on the floor and he basically said that they are known for the tiger hawk and have branded themselves with that logo, so I don't think you'll see that, but who knows?

I hate the parquet, always hated it. Just my 2 cents.....to me, parquet belongs in Boston.

+ 1,000,000!!!!! We are in DIRE need of different uniforms. Come on, Nike...every other school gets a new and improved set every year anymore. And if we ever went with the old cursive jerseys it would be unreal - my favorite of all time!

gohawks14 I KNOW! The nike basketball uniforms are essentially the same template for everyone. Maybe there are slight design changes, but not much. The only thing worse than our basketball uniforms right now are the ones we had before them.

I know the players wouldn't wear shorts circa 1965, but that design could be implemented with some modern twists. Speaking of that, why are the shorts so long, I remember Cully's uniform last year, he looked like he had on capri pants.

I love the cursive font for Iowa across the chest, I always though it would be cool to do something like this: White Jersey, gold letter I, black letters OWA.

Im 27 and love the idea of going back to the yellow court. I would also love to see them break out the yellow uniforms for a few big games a year.

I agree, this was the best look, looked great on tv and you always knew Iowa was on. I think the black on black lettering (like the Black Nascar unis) would look awful. Are the people who are discussing this the same who decided to try pushing Crackhawk and the wings on the shoulderpads.

I would also love to see the old flying hawk logo brought back. Either at center court or on the back of the warm-ups. Also why not go back to having the players design the uniforms? After all they are the ones wearing them.

also here is his yellow design. Though I agree with the comment about Marquette, if you used black border on north and south I think it would balance it some.

I still think the Marquette design looks the best, but I do like the layout of these two above. Just add the opposite color to each and I think you have a winner.

I think the black pictured above is amazing. It has style but still represents the past with the larger logo behind it. I just think the tiger hawk should be a bit larger and maybe make the boarder outside the dotted lines yellow?

I say who really gives a sh&& what color the floor is? Black ... gold? Does it really matter. I don't remember ever having a flashback to previous regimes just because the floor looks the same ... Time to move on ... If you are caught up in the floor color then you have bigger issues ... If the court was all of a sudden painted blue ... well ... then we can talk ...
