It's tough to debate it, but I think 7th place is about the peak of Iowa's upward opportunity this year. Indiana should be better, NW loses their very good PG....Minnesota lost its leading scorer.

Iowa did lose Jarryd Cole, and I hope a few guys can make up his production.

PSU is going to be horrible and Nebraska not far behind...Iowa plays each of those teams twice...plays NW, Minn and Indiana twice too...so the teams the writers pick to finish 7th, 8th, 9th, 11th and 12 comprise over half of Iowa's Big Ten schedule.

It's a good year to learn how to win again.

I know I'm buying too much into a weak schedule, but I really think this team should have a winning record and might push for 20 wins if all the chips fall nicely.

I'm not convinced that Nebraska will be that bad. They won't be that good but don't take a sweep for granted.

Nebraska landed a 5th year senior from LSU at point guard who will probably lead them in scoring.
Illinois landed a 5th year senior from Bradley at point guard and will probably start.

Those were two teams I hoped Iowa would have a big edge at the pg position, but maybe not.

I think 10th is about right, but the schedule could allow a move up the ladder a few spots...go hawks.

I'd be shocked if we finish lower than 8th. MSU is not the MSU of old, NW, IU, PSU and Neb. 6-7 wins right there...

UNL's Spencer was a conventional transfer. Illinois's was the grad school transfer. Sadler told Goodman today that this is the most talented team he has had in his time at Nebraska. They certainly will bring some size and athleticism to the league.

The bottom of the Big Ten is just a mess this season. I think Iowa gets around 17 wins still with the weak schedule.
