Big Ten West

It does seem to be a moving target

Iowa was the returning champion
Wisc the pre-season favorite
NW had a history of winning the West in even numbered years.
Minn became the new favorite after blowing out MSU
Purdue has the best offense but it's defense kept blowing leads late in games.
Wisc was sucking but suddenly they are not sucking.
ILL has had some good games, but inexplicably lost to Ind and almost gave the game away to Iowa.

So the only team nobody seems to talking about is Neb, who blew an early game to NW but at least can beat Rut and Ind.

Ok, if ILL beats Neb on Sat, then the West comes down to the winner of ILL-Purdue.

If ILL loses to Neb on Sat, the West becomes a free for all where anybody still has a chance if they win out.

My predictions

Pur 6-3
ILL 6-3
Wisc 5-4
MInn 4-5
IOWA 4-5
NEB 3-6
NW 1-8

Purdue wins tiebreaker based on my assumption that Purdue will beat ILL

Seems about right. It's a mess an absolute mess. This is parity so much as some bad football being played. IL is probably the closest thing to a complete team but they are still learning how to win. Purdue is streaky they can put up 45 one day and struggle the next.

Wisky has looked good since firing Chryst. It'll be interesting how they do down the stretch and how we do against them. If they finish 5-4 or better they'll probably keep Leonard in that job. Feels like they want him to keep it anyway.

Pains me to say this, but I gotta go Illinois. They pack a defense and have just enough offense.

Iowa used to be like that.

If Illinois starter at QB is healthy they win the West, they would have beat us by more than two TDs if we hadn't knocked him out of the game early.
