Big Ten vs SEC and college football

As a life long Iowa fan and strong supporter of the Big Ten watched several Big Ten games yesterday and then watched several SEC games yesterday objectively.

I have never wanted too admit this but SEC football is much better than big ten more exciting more play makers just more fun to watch, and coaching is not even close. The Big Ten is way behind and I am not sure what we can to about it if anything right now.

KF is a solid coach, but again his end of game management is awful just once play to win instead of making it close, and hoping.

Ain't gonna happen, Iowa will never play to win a game. They let the opposition play to win in close games and the opposition is winning more times than not.

Would Iowa have EVER gone for a fake punt during the Wisconsin/Iowa game. That play is not even IN Iowa's playbook. This staff would pee its pants before the play was even run. Because of that play Bielema and Wisconsin go to the Rose Bowl; Kf and Iowa go to a third tier bowl. Fitzpatrick goes for the win and exploits Iowa's weaknesses; Iowa does not exploit weaknesses...results, NW has Iowa's number--they will win again this year.

Michigan will beat Iowa like a rented mule this year. They will play to win...KF and staff will say, "we have a young team" like they say almost EVERY year. Nebraska will pi$$ pound Iowa at the end of the year because they will be playing for the Big 10 title. Of course, Iowa will be having a losing season and the staff will have broken the player's spirit by then and the team will be playing like it did at the end of last season...just like their coaches --unemotional, uninspired, scared, cautious, afraid to make mistakes and conservative...very very very conservative. By the end of the season, Iowa might only be running four plays because the staff won't trust the offense to run any more.

The style of football we play is tolerable when we are winning. But when we lose it's like a double kick to the nuts. It's gonna be a painful season.

Yeah, its really embarrassing how every time Iowa plays an SEC team they kick the crap out of us ....... oh wait......

If Nebraska is struggling with fresno state I don't think they're going to be showing LSU or Alabama who's boss.
Not to mention, you have to win your bowl games against non sec teams, before you ever think about beating a good team in their own back yard.

Anyone who has thought that the B10 is on the same level as the SEC is fooling themselves. Its been this way for nearly 10 years. The B10 has a lot of company as no conference is close to the SEC.

Miles is the most aggressive coach in the nation, almost to the point of reckless.

Saban is the best coach period. His defensive schemes are miles ahead of college football.

Spurrier is a lot like Miles only with a much better offensive schemes.

And it doesn't matter who Florida's coach is because they always get talent.

That's not to say the B10 can't/won't win some matchups with the SEC but SEC #1 vs B10 #1 and so on would not go well for the B10.

It doesn't matter if the SEC is better than the Big Ten, what matters is who wins when they play, and Iowa has a winning record vs. SEC teams under Ferentz.
